Hey guys. I'm upgrading to a new digital camera. I am looking for something with 7 megapixels and above, small enough to take in my pocket, durable, sleek looking, easy to use and takes great photos. My price range is a flexible $300. Any suggestions?
This is what you're looking for and it fits your price range. The Canon 870IS. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000V1XICU/ref=nosim/?tag=fatwalletcom&linkCode=as1
aw, beat me to it. to the OP, just remember, woot advertises a new deal each day, so that camera will only be up until 11:59 pm tonight.
I'm a fan of the Canon Powershots and the Sony Cybershots. I have the Sony with the 3" touch screen and like it a lot.
I just got the 1100IS myself: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-PowerSh...=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1206396885&sr=1-2 brand new model that was just introduced this year I think, I love it so far
$300 can buy you a very nice digital camera these days. Try amazon or newegg etc. If you purchase a Canon, make sure you buy a model with the letters IS after it. IS = image stability.
Canon SD1000, came recommended to me from 2 photography majors. $150 online retail price. 7.1 megapixels, bout 200 shots per charge, very versatile and its about the size of a credit card, obviously a lot thicker though.
Whatever you do, do not get a Samsung. I had one, my girl had one, and my friend had one. All three crapped out.
I am also in the market for a digital camera. We had a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 which was fanatastic but it was stolen. The TZ3 can be had at Amazon for $215 + free shipping. The new TZ-5 model is being adverstised for $349. The new model is coming out I believe on 3/31/08 which is the Lumix DMC-TZ5. Some new features including HD Video recording, 10x optical zoom, 3 inch LCD screen, face detection, image stablization, and numerous other features. I'm in the market for a new camera myself. Canon seems to be the overwhelming recommendation from friends that know about photography. I have been looking at the SD1000.
