So, RCA is coming out with a new line of high-end TVs that come with two component video inputs (except one has a proprietary connector)? No new technology here...just marketing...
is there no such thing as a component video switch... like there are for s-video and composite? is there really a need for two component video inputs on a tv? question: judging by the article, it seems that the component out cable for the Xbox is a proprietary connector, is this true? i know that the component cable adapter connected to the Xbox is proprietary, but the adapter that connects to the TV, is that too proprietary? (rather than the standard RGB?)
drapg, Yes they do exist...there are standalone models, and some AV recievers can switch them, as well. I wish my TV had more than one... From what I've heard, the VPORT combines the component video cables into "one easy to use" proprietary cable (that will probably cost 30+ bones...) Yea, 3 regular patch cables can be soooo cumbersome!
