The ACLU is against national health care? But I thought they were part of the vast liberal left-wing conspiracy
This is definately in the right place. Im not sure why nobody's jumped to the defense of things like national databases to fight terrorism, because I know that there are plenty of people out there (unfortunately) who believe in any means at all for fighting terrorism. The system is being put forth in that light and given the debate about the Patriot Act that's gone on here, it would've been inappropriate to place it elsewhere. To be fair, while I don't support the bill, and even sent out the emails with my name on them that the ACLU wants you to send, I believe that the bill specifically is for sharing info between government agencies, not for Pizza vendors, so there is a bit of extrapolation, but IMHO not unwarranted.
while i am aginst terrorism, and i do support bush in some aspects..... i do not support national id cards, i dont even like the fact that i have a social security number..... plus i just finished reading 1984 so im kinda freaked about the government right now.
Agreed. This should be in Hangout. This should be in D&D: Do We Need a National ID Card Or this: Passport Chips Raise Privacy Concerns Or this: National ID Cards a Possibility
