Anyone else check it out. Saw this yesterday, i went in not expecting much due to mediocre reviews.. but I thought it was awesome. The whole audience was laughing through most of the movie. Granted, I went to a movie theatre where alcohol was served and I was drinking straight whiskey, but I would still say that this is the best comedy I have seen in a long time. Carrell, The rock, and the anchorman guy did a great job. Also anne hathaway is super hot in this. If you liked 40 yr old virgin or any of Steve's other works. Check this one out.
I completely Agree It was much funnier than I expected. It was not too over the top in goofiness Carrell was excellent and the perfect choice for this role! I am looking forward to a second one Rocket River
7 out of 10. I almost fell asleep with the silly, goofy, cheesy, corny straight-faced lines. Hathaway was H-O-T. You will enjoy this movie in its entirety only if you're a fan of the TV show. Many movie mistakes I won't give away. If you're not a fan of the TV show, expect to yawn.
Saw Steve Carrell on TV over here on Australia last night doing some promotion for the film. It got me thinking, has there ever been a better actor at playing "The Straight Guy" in comedy? When they first announced this movie I though "Um, wasnt that called Austim Power?" but having seen some of the clips I'll be checking this out for sure.
I watched this movie on Saturday and I didn't really expect it to be good. I liked it a lot though. Carrel was great and The Rock wasn't bad.
I always say this, I watching some Miami/Fl St game from 92 I believe, and they showed him standing on the sideline with helmet off. its so surreal. anyway I loved reruns of of Get Smart, i want to see the movie. But I must say this maybe in the speed racer category, i believe the reference is too obscure for today's movie crowd. there are plenty of people who have no idea (sadly) that this show existed. the movie makers are running out of cartoons and sitcoms to bring to the big screen.
Anything with Steve Carell is really funny... he has that "clueless" facial expression and hes also a good actor. Big fan of him from The Office so I guess its obvious for me to say that but he is arguably one of the funniest actors these days compared to actors running out of gas like Adam Sandler
