Very nice, but did you notice when Friedman asked Gersson whether or not he will be a Rocket next year Gersson sort of skirted around the question?

All in all though, its good that they do have an on-going relationship with Prokom and they have been able to work with them closely on developing Donatas' game to translate better to the NBA.

Good stuff. Will def. be one of the more intriguing rookies to come into the league next year if he does in fact come over.

    Jason Friedman@RocketsJCF-

@TheRealDJAIMS There are no guarantees but buyout is favorable and team is optimistic he'll be in Houston for camp.

Man am I excited for this guy to play in Houston!

    Kyle/Llull
    Martin/Lee
    Parsons/Bud/Morris
    Scola/PPat
    Motie/Dalembert

And we're not even talking FA or cap space!

    He's not a Center. He's PF.

True. But he's got more potential to be a better center than Dally. If we don't make a trade for a center and we go to camp with this bunch and Motie, don't be surprised if Motie is your opening day center.

I don't think he should play center. He is much better at the four. He is not known as a shot-blocker.

As for Donatas being a 4 or a 5. Listen to Gersson. It looks like his skill level is where you would want it to be, if not better, than what you would need to play the 5. Its just that his strength isnt exactly where it needs to be against certain matchups.

Either way, look for him to be matched up in certain lineups with Scola, Patterson, and even Parsons in a small-ball lineup. Either way you look at it, he's going to be playing the post. Whether you think he's a 4 or a 5 really doesn't matter. They are interchangeable.

The only thing that matters is whose guarding him, and who he's guarding in matchups. I believe he could guard about half of the NBA post players who are listed at Centers but really are just natural Power forwards who are playing out of position.

So, give it up. He's a post players. Enough with the "he's a 4, not a 5" argument.

    Donatas Motiejunas

He averaged 14 pts and 7 rebounds per game with his Polish team this season. Pretty darn good if you ask me.

I also can't forget his introductory presser in Houston, especially when asked about facing Dwight Howard for the first time.

Does Morey have plans to bring him in for Summer League next season? I want to see what he's got to offer.

Laugh at the idea that McHale would trot out Jhill at the 5 but not Motie. I think Motie is probably sturdier RIGHT NOW.

I don't think he should play center either. I firmly believe in having a good shotblocker at the 5, and that's not Moti's game. He has serious mismatch potential at the 4, also, being a full 7-footer who can score in a variety of ways.

There's no point in pigeonholing Motiejunas to a specific position. Most teams in the NBA today don't have two legit centers(starter and backup). You just go with the matchups. And whatever else you think of McHale, he does seem to know big men. So the Rockets would definitely be a good situation.

Skillset reminds me of Pau. No wonder the Rockets like him a lot.

It sounds like the Rockets firmly believe he can develop a consistent three point shot. The way they describe his potential makes it sound like Pau Gasol meets Dirk Nowitzki. That would be an unbelievable outcome

Who knows if he can get that good... seems unlikely. We'll have to wait and see!

Well, for a few years we've consistently been teased by Rocket drafted players overseas. And we've brought one guy who was a disappointment - "the Greek guy"; but beyond that not another player.

We're hearing about Danatas and Lull, but the Rockets aren't moving assets fast enough to make room for them.

After a while, you question the logic! Especially when the guys are not even under the direction of the Rockets.

But would like to see some of those international players get a chance on the team.
