BCS DECLARES GERMANY WINNER OF WORLD WAR II US Ranked 4th After determining the Big-12 championship game participants the BCS computers were put to work on other major contests and today the BCS declared Germany to be the winner of World War II. "Germany put together an incredible number of victories beginning with the annexation of Austria and the Sudetenland and continuing on into conference play with defeats of Poland, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and the Netherlands. Their only losses came against the US and Russia; however considering their entire body of work--including an incredibly tough Strength of Schedule--our computers deemed them worthy of the #1 ranking." Questioned about the #4 ranking of the United States the BCS commissioner stated "The US only had two major victories--Japan and Germany. The computer models, unlike humans, aren't influenced by head-to-head contests--they consider each contest to be only a single, equally-weighted event." German Chancellor Adolph Hiter said "Yes, we lost to the US; but we defeated #2 ranked France in only 6 weeks." Herr Hitler has been criticized for seeking dramatic victories to earn 'style points' to enhance Germany's rankings. Hitler protested "Our contest with Poland was in doubt until the final day and the conditions in Norway were incredibly challenging and demanded the application of additional forces." The French ranking has also come under scrutiny. The BCS commented " France had a single loss against Germany and following a preseason #1 ranking they only fell to #2." Japan was ranked #3 with victories including Manchuria, Borneo and the Philippines. "When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty."- Thomas Jefferson
How could they win when they feel out of top 25...the same year the war ended? Countries lose everything in process, when they face invasion....an invasion is like a power-house school from the Big 12, SEC, or Pac-10 losing to a division-II BCS Rankings - Dec 1945 #1 - USA [beating Japan and throwing an atom bomb on them...breaks the tie with Russia] The Atom bomb counts for style points...sort of like blowing someone out....think Oklahoma obliterating TT or Florida annihilating Georgia #2 or #1A - Russia (Soviet Union) - the 1-A comes from the allied defeat of the Axis powers #3 - United Kingdom #4 - France Out of the top 25: China - They hadn't really developed advanced weaponry, yet. Germany - Fall of the Nazi Regime Japan - Fall of Imperial Japan and hit by a powerful blast that nearly wiped out two cities. Italy - Paper tigers, fair military to begin with, Mussolini had already been in prison by Grand Council of Fascism (but rescued out though)...then he couldn't even get back into power, because the hierarchy at home wanted him out, anyway.
Let's pack up, everyone...! That's a wra... Thursday afternoon story time with Trackwell (12/4/2008). We have a new show, ladies and gentlemen! Well done, sir.
How do Spain and Switzerland feel? After all, they went through the entire war undefeated, and don't get any respect. And don't say anything about their not fighting any of the big teams. Germany or Britain could have fought them any time they wanted, if they weren't afraid of losing.
I got this in an email around 10 am this morning. Something tells me the OP is not the person who penned this piece.
Spain and Switzerland = Utah and Boise State, but really do you think they could beat the Soviet Union or USA (Texas or Florida).
