I LOVE Brazos Bend State Park. Everytime I go I always see exotic (Texas) Wildlife. The alligators make the park. I would definitely recommend it. Make a day of it, get there fairly early, bring some food to cook on the grill and bring your walking shoes. There are a ton of trails to see.

The Observatory is a welcome place at night after all of the daily activities. They charge a little bit for looking into each telescope. Don't be expected to be blown away by Hubble Quality Images, but you can see the rings of Saturn for instance and detailed craters on the moon.

Be sure to bring lots of Mosquito Spray!!! You will definitely need it, especially when dusk approaches. In my opinion its a great original date.

No! Better option is some sort of bug-repelent cream/sunblock/moisterizer, so you can oh so suavely offer to apply it.

Spraying toxins on her, while she grimaces and closes her eyes, will not be romantic.

But then, mosquito bites aren't that romantic either. ... Not for most of us.
