His standup act anyway. His show is damn hilarious. but his recent standup act on HBO just didnt do it for me. I wasn't impressed at all
Yeah I saw that and thought it was pretty terrible, I didn't laugh once for the 5 minutes I had it on. He was just acting obnoxious and kept saying -random person- **** that PUTO! and then its a horde of "(non-mexicans) be like this!" (non-mexican act) "but mexicans be like this! (mexican stereotype delivered in thick spanish accent)" I don't find any of it to be in the least bit humorous.
Moe pretty much nailed it. I watched the entire show looking for any reason to laugh, but it was just a bad show.
Why You Crying? was where his career peaked. Although I really enjoyed the standup he did here in Houston, I went to the second show, and I liked it. I was a big fan of George back in the day when he was on Que Locos. Now he just says things because people will laugh at anything. Same for Dane Cook, his Vicious Circle standup was horrible. He would say the dumbest things and people would laugh. I agree Louis CK is doing his thing right now, his HBO comedy special had me almost passing out from the laughter.
I find Carlos Mencia very annoying. He's not funny to me one bit, all he does is scream in a high pitched voice. I'm glad Rogan burned his ass.
george lopez used to be halarious, his jokes got old now, and you gotta at least speak spanish to enjoy the jokes more.
He also doesn't like Jay Leno. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/orl-lopezaudio-012407,0,6385878.mp3file?coll=orl-caltop Another plus, to me.
moes pretty much nailed the five minutes of the show that i watched. every single joke was of that variety. i find almost every HBO comedy special funny. obviously different degrees of funny, but they still almost all entertain me (even vicious circle for the most part). so for me to just give up 5 minutes in at 3 in the morning when nothing else was on was pretty bad. the one DL Hughley's special i've seen was pretty much just the black version of those jokes and yet somehow he made it funny. lopez was just going through the motions. "why you crying" was actually pretty funny and the 3 or 4 episodes of his show i've ever seen were at least somewhat quality, but "american's mexican" sucked.
