Please think about this one. Remember all the grief Seattle gave us with the zone defense they called "traps"? Karl owned the Rockets. They were so tough to play. He is not in a secure place right now with Senator Kohl in Milwaukee. Is his contract up this year?

He did a lot in Milwaukee with less talent than we have.

Would you guys think him a worthy candidate? Or too near burnout status??

    Please consider and reply......

After seeeing what Detroit is getting away with- no holds barred- take no prisoners....

Who says he did a lot with his talent?

Surely, he could've done much better than he did. 8th seed?

    Ervin Johnson/Dan Gadzuric
    Anthony Mason
    Tim Thomas/Toni Kukoc
    Ray Allen/Micheal Redd
    Sam Cassell

Later on, he removed Allen, and got Mason and Payton.

He should've been at least a 6th seed.

However, I don't mind him being our coach. But I think he's a part owner of the Bucks, so it would be tough to get him.

I'd rather have Larry Smith than George Karl.

Look what he's done with the Bucks. Have we forgotten what he did with the national team?

You think if he couldn't beat those international teams with the talent he had, he'd be able to do anything against the Mavs or Kings with our roster?

For the record...I was the absolute first to suggest George Karl. I think he would be a decent fit for the Rockets, but that was before Larry Brown left Philly. I still think Karl could do some good things here...he could definitely up-tempo our existing offense, but there's no way he is going to turn us into an early 90's version of the Sonics. Those guys had so much more talent spread throughout the entire roster as compared to what we have now. (Geesh...I hated those Sonics teams and still think we would never have won the first championship if Denver hadn't beaten them in the first round...thanks Dikembe!!!).

Anyway...I think Karl has some sort of ownership tie with Milwaukee and it would be very difficult to pry him away. I think he'll bide his time until the North Carolina job opens back up in ten years or so.

I am sorry I missed your previous post boom boom. I think Karl does have issues, but has a gifted basketball mind. He did coexist with Payton who I think is very difficult.
You are right - Seattle falling to Denver in '94 wass a godsend.

I am not sure if Karl still "has it"...

I just am not sure we should settle for Dunleavy. I posted this before the Rockets made it apparent they are not prepared to pay top money for a coach. I think Karl may be the highest paid NBA coach....

We don't need dog bite boy.

To everyone who hates the Jazz (as I, myself do), they will never cause greater pain to me than the Sonic's. I loathed this team much more than the Jazz in the 90's.

For that reason, hiring Karl would be likee hiring Sloan to a lot of you. We don't need him.

    uhm.

He alienated his two best players by calling them out repeatedly in the press.

He pursued a guy who everyone knew would bring their offense to a crashing halt, because he plays an entirely different style of ball. Yet he did it anyway.

His team had perhaps the biggest, "Roll Over and Die" moment, I've ever seen. All they needed was one win in the last game of the season against a Detroit team that had nothing to play for except avoiding injury. And they lost by 40 points.

His team has consistently underperformed in Milwaukee, despite considerable talent. In fact, you can pretty much set your calendar by the annual, "Why aren't the Bucks Winning More?" articles in the press.

What has he done that would make him sem desirable as a head coach?

Well, he did take the Bucks to the playoffs more times than 1 of the 2 remaining candidates on our radar screen.

George Karl is pretty much the poster boy for underachievement (and being overpaid for it as well, he was the highest paid coach last year according to some)

He's had one of the most talented teams in the East for the last 3 years and the last 2 he backs into the playoffs on the last day as the 8th seed. I repeat, he backed into the EASTERN CONFERENCE playoffs as the 8th seed,

Then he took a team of all stars and finished 6th in the WC's. Hell, Rudy took a bunch of CBA'rs in 98 and managed to finish 3rd.

No George Karl. No freaking way.

No thanks. Isn't he likes the highest paid coach right now?

    No thanks to him.
