With both The Avengers movie and final Dark Knight coming out this summer was wondering what Clutchfans geeks thought of the comics most famous crime fighting billionaires. Both are super geniuses with virtually unlimited wealth and at least in their public persona / secret identity living the high life with luxury and supermodels. This is a two part question. Who would win a fight, Batman or Ironman? Who would you rather be, Bruce Wayne or Tony Stark? Obviously this second question only applies to men but how many women are on Clutchfans and are also comic book geeks?
I will kick things off. I think Batman wins because their technology cancels each other out but Batman is a far better fighter and tactician than Ironman. I would rather be Tony Stark though because Bruce Wayne is more psychologically damaged than Tony Stark and never really seems to have fun.
Bruce Wayne is a tortured soul. Tony Stark seems mostly happy with his life. I pick Tony Stark. And the Iron Man suit is much better than Bat-anything.
Batman over Ironman, would rather be Tony Stark Batman relies on his smarts to get the job done and not a suit of armor, but Stark spends his fortune to live it up
Batman should never be in the same Universe as Superman, Wonderwoman and ect. In real life Batman would get destroyed by Ironman let alone a guy with a gun.
Throwing in a few more wrinkles here. While Tony Stark isn't the tortured soul Bruce Wayne is he also has to rely on technology to keep him alive. Also if I remember my comics correctly he was an alcoholic for awhile and also a government goon. Also a war profiteer. Batman / Bruce Wayne has been an outsider not bowing to the government or selling Wayne tech for evil purposes. Plus he get's to talk in a cool gravely voice.
Fantasy: Let's not forget (in hero aspect, not their personal lives) Batman/Bruce Wayne can/has his own suit of armor as well. Batman ftw.
If anybody watched the Batman cartoons in the 90's or the Justice League ones in the early 2000's, they'd know that Bruce Wayne can be as much of a charmer as Tony Starks. Let's not forget about this gem:
Batman keeps files on how to destroy all of the people he works with, just in case he ever needs to. Most Iron Man fights I've seen involve him either a) having some crucial circuit damaged in the first ten minutes of the fight, b) using up all of his energy reserves in the first twenty minutes of the fight, or c) both. Batman just wins. For all his technology, money, and government influence, IM still got his ass kicked by Cap and Spidey on two separate occasions during the Civil War. Spidey was using the armor that Stark built for him, Stark uses a pre-programmed code that he designed to lock the suit down in case Peter got out of hand, Peter uses his own pre-programmed code designed to unlock the suit in case Iron Man did him dirty, then proceeds to whoop his ass. Cap just uses a scrambler to disable his armor, then proceeds to whoop his ass. Can't see how Batman wouldn't do just as well. All that said, there's no way I would choose to be Bruce Wayne over Tony Stark. Catwoman tries to give Bruce some, and he's all, "I made a vow to my parents that someday I would rid Gotham City of fun." Meanwhile, Tony is actively trying to bang all his female teammates. Sign me up for Iron Man.
Umm. That just shows again how smart Bruce Wayne is. It is dangerous to say "no" to Catwoman's advances, so you have to be clever about it. No way in hell Tony Stark would tap Catwoman, either. She's an evil psycho b****. If you do it and don't call her back ... I pray for you.
Batman is a peak human with some gadgets. He fights people like the Joker and Two-face. Iron Man is a genius with a suit of armor that throws down with people like Namor and the Hulk. Batman is less than a joke villain to Iron Man. Hell, even movie Iron Man could beat Batman.
iron man is baby stuff, homes. All that fake technology aint s***. Batman the real dope homie. Batman be taking out all yall stupid evil bam bam bam pow. (cuing FRESH)
I voted Batman wins because he's more badass. I voted would rather be Tony Stark, because I enjoy those movies more.
Batman basically killed superman in the Dark Knight Returns. Iron Man can't even beat emo Peter Parker.
Batman has that hard "Seal team 6" edge it takes to win no matter what. I would still be Tony in public though because funny and charismatic. Bruce is a homebody.
What is stopping Batman from building his own armored suit? He's just as smart as Tony if not smarter and like someone else said a master tactician. He's one of those guys who doesn't go into business with someone without finding out their dirty secrets. He'll find a way to beat Iron Man.
Cleverly disguised "Who is better Lebron/Kobe, but who would you want on your team?" thread. Lebron Best player in the NBA and has all the tools to be the best player to play the game; doesn't want the win as much. puts up a front just to be loved by the public. Kobe Takes nothing for granted uses what he has and can acquire to his advantage; wants the win VERY bad. Puts up a front to get the public off his back. How come we never see Batman and Kobe in the same place?
