Where do most of you fill up gas for your vehicle at? Chevron Citgo Conoco Exxon HEB Kroger Murphy USA/Wal-Mart RaceWay/RaceTrac Randall's Shell Texaco Valero/Diamond Shamrock and etc.... Also, is gas at the grocery store (HEB, Wal-Mart, and etc) just as good as the other brand names? By the way, here's a good website. http://www.houstongasprices.com
My friend used to work in a family owned business. He would go to different gas stations around Houston and test the gas. Sometimes it wouldn't be up to the level it should have been, sometimes it would be dirty and have particles in it. He said that by far the best location was Valero/Diamond Shamrock. 9 out of 10 times it was clean and up to quality. I asked him about places like Shell and Chevron. He said that he would regularly have problems with them, they were at the middle of the pack. I should have asked him what the numbers were (6 out of 10 would be my guess). Oh well, after hearing that he would only fill up at Valero unless it was absolutly necessary I figured I'd follow his lead. Pugs
I use only Chevron in my car...I've used others, but I notice that my engine "knocks" when I use Shell and Exxon.... On a side note, I just paid $3.27/gallon up here in Dallas... It was around or slightly below $3 a couple of weeks ago when I filled up...
Usually hit up the Chevron at the intersection of Kirby/West Alabama or the Chevron on Westheimer just a few lights past the Galleria going away from 610 on the right hand side both are damn expensive - it took like $60 to fill up my tank and I wasn't even on E $KO40A$
I usually buy from Kroger and try to take advantage of the $0.10 off per gallon deal by loading up on groceries and junk food.
