I've been out of the car market for a couple of years and haven't really looked at it at all. I'm starting to think about replacing my little truck and getting a new (or lightly used) mid-sized SUV. Are the prices much lower with high gas prices? Are dealers more willing to deal? I'm specifically looking at the Toyota 4Runner and Nissan Pathfinder, as lightly equipped as possible.

Also, does anyone have experience with the Pathfinder? I have friends with 4Runners, and I know I like them, but I'd like to consider other models that I think I might like.

I pull a bass boat on occasion. Car-based SUVs suck for that. Besides, I think the Murano is over-priced.

Pathfinder: I own one and must tell you horrible interior with very little leg room in the front. Other than pretty nice car with good all around performance and decent price tag. Don't buy one if your are like me and have long legs.

I normally drive my other car Nissan Altima which strangely has the best leg room and spacing I've ever had in a car.
