Just great... http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=fanball-texanswalkeroutindef&prov=fanball&type=lgns News Texans defensive end Gary Walker separated his left shoulder in week two game against the Steelers and is out indefinitely, reports NFL.com. Views Rookie Travis Johnson or veteran Junior Ioane will be the top candidates to replace Walker if he has to miss a lot of time, but we'll update his status once more information is available.
I used to like Gary Walker, but the way he blamed the first loss solely on the offense and acted as if the defense played a terrific game was pretty bush league. How in the hell can giving up 21 points be considered a good outing?
Since Gary Walker has moved to the Texans, he has spent more time down than up - which is good enough to get an extension last year. The writing is on the wall. Travis Johnson willl step in. If Walker doesn't turn it around, he will be the next one out on the defense. I still can't believe we extended his contract.
Hopefully Travis Johnson will get to take over, and we can finally see if the Texans made a good move picking him up over DJ.
No big loss in my opinion....its not like he has been our version of LT or Reggie White. Matter of fact he really hasn't done much at all. The Texans first year he had 36 tackles and 6.5 sacks, the next two years combined 25 tackles and 0.5 sacks. Give the rook a try, he will make mistakes but he can't do any worse then Walker has done.
