Biggest question: Can you have one on Sundays or is it best to stick to Saturdays? Im helping a buddy out and we really have no idea what to do other than put up signs or something around the neighborhood. thx
If you have time, be sure to place an ad or two in any local papers. There are many die-hard "garage salers" who plan whole days around garage sales. If you are not in the paper, you won't make their list. Use lots and lots of signs, the more signs, the more people will show. As for Sunday, it can't hurt.
Yep. Gotta beat the masses for the best deal on that sofa from 1978 and the coffee table with the drink rings and the cat scratches on the leg.
WQhat's the addres?! I will see if I can m,ake it!!! Garage sale!! gice you a ew bucks, and see if I can pick up a few old school things!!!
If you have enough stuff to warrant it and can take the time off -- try Friday too. I also have mine on Fri-Sat and Friday is allways much bigger. I guess most die-hard yard salers don't work
what we do is have it on Friday & Saturday...You can advertise in the GreenSheet in H-town (week before) and we have it from 7 a.m - 2 p.m.... Everyone comes out of the woodwork and its all about haggling and bargaining... We typically put signs out the night before and make a killing... Good luck
Most people are "garagesaling" on Fridays/Saturdays. Also, go to the bank and get plenty of change to break $20s. And you might want to use one of those "styling" fanny packs because they will cover your place early and might get you away from the cash box with questions - and with a fanny pack - no worries about a big loss. I know it's goofy looking, but not much worse than the crowd your serving and you can easily make change on the spot.
Why would you leave sunday out? It's part of the weekend and it's not like not have the church crowd will damage your sales anyway.
