You know it's bad when what is essentially 'free money' for a company ends up being too much of a hassle.

Of course there is the fact that all 360s have the 3 year standard now, but still it was a little easier to just walk into a GS and get it traded out if needed. More reason to look for a Costco I guess!

with a 3 year warranty from microsoft, there isn't all that much more that they can offer. Do they do 5 years?

I really can't believe how bad those things are. I would probably own one if it wasn't for the fact that they drop like goldfish. What kills me is the user base support for the systems, even after they die... and die again... and sometimes again. Sony users complained about the price. At least the damn thing works.

The 3 year Microsoft warranty only covers one problem - the red ring of death. Anything else is under the standard warranty, such as disk read errors - another common problem.

you ever stop to think about why this is?

it's not hard... it's because there is a sh!tload of awesome games for the 360. I've had to get a new one once so far, but I don't regret the 360 whatsoever, I've played a ton of fun games on it

something I definitely can not say about my PS3...yet. R&C is great though, I bought that

Does costco's warranty still cover XBox 360? I thought they changed the police for all the electronics, so it only covers for 3 month.

The reliability is really their big weakness. Hopefully it is corrected soon.

Don't know why you'd be surprised by the userbase, though. More game choices, longer to establish itself, still lower (than PS3) price, etc. If the RROD problem didn't exist you'd find most people would find far fewer negatives.

That's why you get an Elite. Runs faster and much cooler. Overall, a much more reliable system.

you thought wrong, the policy was not changed for all electronics, only a small percentage of things...360s are still returnable
