Probably for most people, the answer to this question will be poker. I have never played it but wouldn't mind learning one day.

The card games I enjoy playing are:

    Hearts
Pinochle (hadn't played in a couple of years but really enjoyed it)
    Solitaire

Anyone play Canasta or Euchre? Do we have any big Bridge players here?

Nobody could touch me in Spades back in high school. During my senior year of high school, my English teacher got fired midway through the school year...all we did the spring semester was play spades. I was the master of going low with Aces and Kings in my hand.

Presidents and Assholes was always a fun drinking card game

that's not a "card" game per se...more of a site of homosexual exploration, not that there's anything wrong with that.

I don't know Poker, but as a family we do Old Maid, Uno (my four-year-old is a darn good player who beats us all) and Go Fish. I can't remember any others.

    Does Mexican Lotería count?

Sounds like a good family game.
I don't want to google that... :( How long have you been playing that game...? And by the way, are the cards brown?

The games I know how to play and play semiregularly are:

    Poker (any type)
    Spades
    Hearts
    Euchre
    Solitaire
    Speed
    Spoons
    Blackjack

Games I've played but haven't played enough to actually learned:
    Canasta
    Pinochle
    VC
    Cribbage

I prefer card games to pretty much anything other than sports or video games. Teach me to play and I'll play any card game.

Texas Hold 'Em- Stick mainly to limit cash games. Haven't done any real money tourneys.

Blackjack- I play with my friends at the casino and ask them whether I should hit or stand.

It is a drinking card game. It's best to play with a lot of people. The more the better. I used to play it with about 15 people at a time. I haven't played it in around 15 years though.

The ranking system goes from president to ******* and should include everyone playing.

Rule #5 is very important. We would play where you could tell anyone ranked lower than you to do whatever you want them to. :)
