I believe that the install base for ps3/xbox360 is plentiful and that they will always make some games via digital download like xbox live arcade. too many people have them. plus the new systems are going to be $400 plus, the rich kids will adopt first but the regular folk wont.
I plan on upgrading eventually; but I haven't seen anything that makes me want to go out and buy it at launch day.
Agree I think they (Sony at least), are expecting a much longer lifespan of the older console and therefore are continuing to give prime game titles older platform releases, such as GTA 5, GT6 and The last of us. I won't be changing until a game i dearly want is exclusively new generation
Better poll would've been: I plan to upgrade at launch I plan to upgrade a year after launch I plan to upgrade two years after launch I plan to upgrade never etc For myself I will probably grab a PS4 about a year after launch.
Almost assuredly gonna get a PS4. I'm certainly not gonna buy one in the next couple of months. Maybe after tax return, probably later. 1.Specs are one thing, but by then we'll know how they are actually performing. Sony looks to be head and shoulders above right now, but s*** happens. 2.Allows the game library and user base to fill up. GTA and Batman are still current gen, and the online community for Madden and 2K will still be much more active. 3.Gives time to work out the inevitable problems that will come with any system launch 4.Likely to be an improved model available. Waited for my PS3, got 20 extra GB for 100 less dollars. 5.Potential price drop.
I'm gonna stop kidding myself. Unless I accidentally have one of them kids I'm upgrading everything as much as possible. Probably get a launch PS4, it is tradition after all.
