The PS3 has the processing power of 10 typical desktop computers. Put that IBM cell to work! As someone who has seen 1st hand the pain that Alzheimer's can cause a person and their family, I URGE all current and future PS3 owners to participate in this program. Just run it when you aren't playing any games. At a time when stem cell research is up against the wall, you can make a huge difference in trying to make up for what the medical community has lost.

Can't the PS3 also help fight cancer. I think it's called Folding at Home or something like that. I have no idea how it works but I saw something on this is a Benz Forum.

It definitely would help out a lot if some of the PS3 owners used this. It is easy to treat it like a screensaver, and as the article says, just a small number of users can make a big difference (partly due to the PS3's processing power). You can create teams, which kind of creates a competition of sorts to help add incentive. It would be nice if Sony made a trophy or something in Home so that people would use this (complete 100 workloads to get a "prize").

I recommend people with or without a PS3 to also check out the PC version, which acts in much the same way (although not quite as fancy).

Im saying it sounds like bs to ME. I don't believe anything Sony is involved with. Could be true, all I am saying is I do not believe it. Excuse me for having my own opinion about something, that isn't the same as yours.

given how r****ded it is for you to just not believe an announcement made by Sony and also a Major Disease Research center, i think it's a understandable mistake on my part.

More useful than SETI at least...

And yes Folding@home is legit...although Sony might try to backdoor some PS3s or something...

try and get your friends to as well. It sucks. I think when HOME is released it will really cut into the time ppl spend running this program. Hopefully, people will leave it running at night
