Forgot it was coming on, though they're showing it 3 times in row so I'm sure I would've stumbled upon it at some point. Thanks for the heads up.
Did you know that two of the women in this series starred in a romantic lesbian comedy opposites of each other?
^^ I missed it and came to this thread to see what people thought.. I am guessing people aren't thinking much of this new show?
Great first episode although they should tone down on the sex a bit and I say this as a horny 19 year old.
They really did get a lot of the casting down perfectly. Viserys was particularly good as was Dany. And damn, they aren't holding back on the nudity. Nice. lol Interesting change in the Dany/Drogo scene, kinda changes some elements of his character. Cliffhanger worked perfectly for television. Overall, a good start. Ready to see how it progresses.
I enjoyed it quite a bit. Once they get some of the exposition established it will get better. That's always tricky with any series, especially a fantasy series. I thought they did about as well as they could. And it's just so damn good to look at.
Acting performances I was impressed with: Nikolaj Coster-Waldue - Jaime Lannister Mark Addey - King Rob Bronson Webb - Will (from the opening scene) and of course ( Peter Dinklage and Sean Bean) Acting jobs I didn't enjoy: Kit Harrington as Jon Snow Richard Madden - Rob Stark Overall, I really enjoyed it. I don't see how they plan on fitting the whole book into 9 more episodes. Seems to me like they will need to cut alot of the story to pull it off. The one scene I disapproved of was the finding of the direwolf. Directing was choppy and a poorly written script for that scene.
Nah I just finished it and I thought it was pretty damn good so far. I think I can fit together some of the story so far (I haven't read the book), but I missed some of the dialogue because either of an accent or they mumbled which sucked. The only low point for me was that barbarian sex-party scene. I feel like missing out by not reading the book, but I simply don't have the time until summer. Also the intro credits looked pretty awesome.
I didn't think the guy doing Jon was that bad, I thought Catelyn was poor.. as mentioned on the other thread it seems a poor casting choice but I also thought she was a pretty poor actor in this first episode. Overall it was pretty good as a fan of the book, a couple of little changes I didn't really like but you have to expect that I guess. This was always probably going to be one of the slower episodes introducing all the main characters.
Haha. What? The sex scenes were short and not very graphic at all, but there was still quite a few. Anyway, I disagree about Kit Harrington. It looks like he'll do a good job. Robb barely said anything. Neither did Arya, so I can't really judge them yet. Sansa is the one I'm not sure about.
