With the Rockets not having a 1st round pick and the draft getting closer, what combo of team drafting a certain player do you hope NOT to see on draft night?

    For example, mine:

I hope the New Orleans Pelicans DO NOT draft Alex Len.
I believe Len is a very skilled big man and will develop well. If Len gets drafted by the Pelicans than we have to play against a possible "twin towers" in our division with Len and Davis down low. We all know how hard skilled big men are to come by and if Len pans out, as well as Davis keeps developing, I think the Pelicans start to form a contender.

I hope the Thunder do not draft or trade for Cody Zeller.

I hope that Clevland does not draft Noel. I think if they do they will be even more stuck in mediocrity. I hope they can trade the number one pick for their sake.

I hope Portland does not draft shabazz. They will have enough young talent to be okc lite

I wonder if any team (especially Rockets) would draft 23yo player over younger ones? Is there any reason to do so?

If the 23 year old is significantly more NBA ready and you're already a contender then yes. OKC would rather have a 23 yr old they can stick in their rotation than a young guy that has to spend lots of time in the DLeague.

OKC may not be the best example because they're still young but you get the point. Miami would probably do the same for a big guy or PG, in my opinion.

So, Rockets rather take 23yo player who is more NBA ready or 20yo kid? Lt's say both have great work ethic

The 20 year old is more likely to have a greater improvement.

The 23 year old is closer to his peak, and will have inflated stats, because he's been playing against kids who haven't been in the weight room as long.

Give me the younger player, who can improve and still grow an inch or two.

And he would have gone #1 at 19 as well...

Then I hope no one drafts Livio Jean-Charles and our GM is smart enough to draft this underrated kid.
