Okay, what are some good picks for tommorow? i'm going to take 50 bucks and turn it into $50,000 by XLI in Miami. (or 500 is nice.) It says that Green Bay is the favorite, but I went with Seattle +4.5 I hate week 17. Why did i start in week 17? What about the Cotton Bowl. I think they had Tech -3. I might take that. any "locks of the week?" any "easy money" games?
week 17 is the worst week in all of football to bet. your best money weeks are weeks 8-15 take it from me, I'm a former professional sports handicapper and bookie. as for this week I have carolina at -2.5 also baltimore at -2.5 (both games I had to buy some points though) tampa bay game is obvious, but most sportsbooks don't have the money line on that, and -14 is way too much to give in pro football i made some nice green on ny giansts win over oakland on saturday. I had a -6.5 call on that game, I got lucky with the giants last minute goal line stand. btw never bet on basketball.
some of the better ones are www.vipsports.com and www.sportsbook.com I currently use www.betroyal.com, for my straight betting. i have accounts with several bookies( at least 10), but thats mainly for my sports arbritrage betting.
You need to bet on a futures exchange as opposed to a traditional sports book. Much lower juice, and you have the opportunity (option, not the obligation) to cut your losses mid-game if you so desire. Of course, you could also walk cut your gains short if you're unsure about the final outcome and you don't want to sweat it out. Yesterday during the TCU/ISU Houston bowl, I bought the contract for TCU to cover -3.5 at $40 right as the game started, and sold it for $75 when they went up 14-0 at the beginning of the game. If I had held onto that bet like a traditional sports book I would have lost my money b/c TCU only ended up winning by 3. Tradesports is the exchange I prefer.
don't bet at the end of the season too many variables and the spreadmakers have complete locks on what teams are going to do. Better to bet earlier in the season where odds makers don't have a complete grasp on what teams are going to look like. my .02. P.S. don't bet, its a crapshoot with the spread.
I dont bet online, but I would venture to never bet on baseball as well....its to easy for crap teams that arent supposed to win, to win.
Well it depends on how much of a payout you are looking for. If you are looking for a larger payout, bet on the Money Line for UT. It is about +220. If you play the +7 spread, your payout will be about +100.
Most pro handicappers dont even bother on pro baskeball. Neither do I. Why? Because it is one of the most corrupt leagues in sports in the USA. If you watch the spreads and final scores of games you will see observe some very peculiar behavior.
advice on the college game? i just lost me some five bucks today on seattle. I was thinking Carolina over Atl, but ATL always give Carolina fits. should i pick Texas Tech -3.5? ohio state -4.5? florida state +10?
i want to bet on soccer futures. i want to bet on who is going to win the world cup, who will win the golden slipper.
Take Ohio St. and Penn State I would take USC and buy 1 pts to make it 6.5 the more you play the more you're just goin to cancel out
Interesting take, but I won some good money going Over on the Over/Under last year in some Phoenix and GSW games. Are these fixed as well and did I just get lucky or or are the fixes mostly on the spread?
I've lost about $50 over the past few months (of which I had left in the online account and figured, why not just lose it). I did okay, but couldn't resist from the tempting parlays with 3 or 4 teams. Last year I was doing okay until basketball season. Same excuse, haha. Personally, it seems like tennis, soccer, and golf are "safest" to bet on. Match play in golf is easy money, at least I figured. So I put down $200 on Tiger -- and of course he loses for the first time in the first round at Accenture, haha. But yeah, I've learned what and who to bet on from mistakes. Doubt I'll add any money to the account for the playoffs though.
