Amusingly, the poll finds that McCain's association with George W. Bush is more damaging than Obama's association with Wright.

Number of likely voters who say Bush makes them less likely to vote for McCain: Thirty-eight percent.

Number of likely voters who say Wright makes them less likely to vote for Obama: Thirty-three percent.

In other good news for Obama, the poll finds that a very large majority -- 64% -- say it won't impact their vote.

Now we just need Hillary to go away, or maybe she is angling for the VP nod, trying to force her way at least partially into the whitehouse?

I'm not convinced this will be true in November. It could go either way. We have 5 months for each side to try and define the other.

A big question going forward is how aggressive, quick and forceful Obama's campaign will be when striking back against GOP attack ads. I remember in 1992 how Bill Clinton's people made it a point to reply almost immediately because of what happened to Dukakis.

Wow. AP/WaPo poll finds national Right Direction/Wrong Track numbers at 16/82. By far the largest number for Wrong Track since the previous high of 74 in 1973.

Furthermore, Bush just broke Truman's record of consecutive months below 50% approval. The record now stands at 40 months.
