Just came across this from Woj on Yahoo sport. The Link is HERE. This truly blows, Nuggets this season has something special going, it's sad to see one of their major contributor to go down like that.
yea i wanted to see what they could do in the playoffs. they had the best record in the west since the all star break
Torn ACL notables: Michael Redd - pretty much ended his career. Kyle Lowry and Baron Davis tore it in college and took almost a year to recover but still was able to make a name for themselves in the NBA J. Crawford comes back better than ever A. Peterson comes back 6 months later and dominates NFL Gallinari... injures with less than 10 games in the season and returns before playoffs starts. Modern Medicine/Technology. ACL tears are not career ending anymore... but now an advantage. http://www.theonion.com/articles/adrian-peterson-retears-acl-in-preparation-for-201,30895/
How do you define "better starters" though? He's good, but he's not GOOD. He's probably a Top 50 player, but that's probably all I'd give him.
Derrick Rose has the same thing, and look at him, the issue there is often psychological as much as it is physical.
Looks like this is gonna increase iggys leverage for a contract. Hate to see players go down buy luckily he isn't a d rose player who relies a lot on his athleticism.
If Wilson Chandler is healthy and ready to be productive each and every game, they won't miss Gallo much. But their margin for error decreases without him. I'm not the biggest Gallo fan. The Nuggets playoffs hopes hinge 100% on Ty Lawson's health. If he isn't dynamic (or doesn't play), they have no chance to advance beyond the 2nd round.
That sucks. The Nuggets were a fun team to watch, I hope they still land in that 4-5 matchup and make it a competitive one, they should be all right with how many talented players they have.
