http://g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/63832/nba-elite-11/articles/71586/NBA-Elite-11-Hands-On-Preview/ There's a thread for 2k11, so why not? Anyway, I'm impartial but this looks pretty good. It was also runner up for sports game of E3 by 1up (2K wasn't given any awards, despite it's admittedly better graphics). <object classId="clsid27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="480" height="418" id="VideoPlayerLg46377"><param name="movie" value="http://g4tv.com/lv3/46377" /><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><embed src="http://g4tv.com/lv3/46377" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="VideoPlayer" width="480" height="382" allowScriptAccess="always" allowFullScreen="true" /></object><div style="margin:0;text-align:center;width:480px;font-family:Arial,sans-serif;font-size:12px;color:#FF9B00;"><a href="http://g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/index" style="color:#FF9B00;" target="_blank">Xbox 360 Games</a> - <a href="http://g4tv.com/e32011" style="color:#FF9B00;" target="_blank">E3 2011</a> - <a href="http://g4tv.com/games/xbox-360/63832/nba-elite-11/index" style="color:#FF9B00;" target="_blank">NBA Elite 11</a></div>
It has a lot of potential to be the first truly great NBA game. I'm excited to give that demo a try in the coming months.
I've been playing 2K10 a lot lately, but this just seems like it has the potential to really be something. I HATE how when I shoot I can time it perfectly and align it perfectly but it'll still brick for no good reason. Same thing with stealing / blocking -- this really seems like it may fix all of that.
Turrible... NBA Live is going to blow again, just like it did last year, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year before, and the year bef-------------------------(well I think this particular year was pretty good for NBA Live...) NBA 2K will be the best basketball simulation on the market... And, btw, seclusion, If you are bricking wide open shots for no reason, something is wrong with either your shot, or your sliders. Try these sliders out, with the coaching profiles loaded, If you haven't already... They are ppppppppperfect.... Just read the comments in there... http://www.operationsports.com/forums/nba-2k-sliders/419421-rspencer86s-2k10-sliders-settings.html
One of the lead designers left 2K last year to work on Live '10. He then came back to 2K this year since he didn't like how EA were developing their game. He insinuated they were going in a more arcade-y direction while he seem devoted to making it as a realistic simulator as possible.
Really? He came back to 2K after leaving for Live for a while? I remember reading about him heading off to Live, but that is crazy that he is back at 2K already...

Game has been trash these last 5 years, but I will reserve my judgement for this one since they are changing everything up. Still highly doubt they can top 2K's gameplay... 2K is light years ahead of Live/Elite in gameplay.
I had never messed with the sliders before, they were on default. I tried those in association mode and it felt better -- but I'm pretty certain sliders aren't on in myplayer mode. Am I incorrect?
Damn, It is brutal playing with the sliders at default, I have been having some of the greatest games of late with those sliders. That's a good question. I usually just play "Myplayer" mode on association. I put it on player lock and also control the team management. I have read that you can change the sliders in myplayer mode but it requires the draft combine download. Meh, who knows? Hopefully they spice up myplayer mode this year so that it is less repetitive and clunky. I would love for them to add real practices, real contracts, more NBA news and stuff... Just flesh out the mode because it is a great idea...
I used to work at EA, and what that guy says is 100% true, they never wanted to be the best, just sell a bunch of units. The marketing people are annoying, they lick their thumbs toss em in the air and see which direction the wind is blowing before making a decision on which games or type of games to make. EA's motto..."Happy to be number 2" DD
I see a big problem with this... If shooting is entirely based on skill (aka "how good you get at timing the flick of a joystick") then I can see people shooting some extremely ridiculous percentages if they play with the same team all the time (assuming releases vary from player to player). I'm talking like 85-90% shooting. That's obviously not like real shooting.
You have to be open to shoot that high a percentage. If the opposing player plays good D and there's a man close to the shooter it will effect his shot. If you leave me open because you double on to my 4 in the post and I time my shot perfectly I should make my shot.
he was probably a spy..and he was always loyal to 2k and just tricked EA .. probably had a under the table deal made out already behind the scenes
NBA Live has always beat in 2k in terms of music and overall presentation by a country mile. 2k wins in the gameplay category aka the bread n butter of any sports game.
On NBA 2k games you control the feet with left stick and control layups, shots, dunks with right stick (some ppl prefer just x), so i dont see how this is innovative. 1-1 movements sounds interesting though. He says Shots in games right now, you have no control over weather it goes is and based on luck. Not true, your percentage depends on the player, how open he is, and when you release the shot. Not impressed and live graphics suck every year. They do like very cartoon like as opposed to 2k.
