I thought I was beyond giving a damn after that WWE orchestrated screw job, but....apparently not. For the first time in forever, I didn't watch the finals.

I went from pissed to numb. ...now, I'm pissed again.

    Geez!

We sadly had our chance. Another What-IF year thanks to a historic **** 3 point shooting effort in game 7.

It seems we basicaly have no 3pt shooting practice.

I never heard we have that.

Plus, they know nothing offense skills but inconsistently 3 pt shooting. They are especially terrible on mid range shoot.

same. didn't watch. don't care. f*ck the nba. they didn't want us in the finals because of ratings and $$$. seeing highlights of those cheaters celebrating the fact that they were handed another championship by the nba was infuriating.

but just think about this: last year james was ROBBED of the mvp and he made it no contest this year. now this year he was ROBBED of the championship. he will come back to make it no contest next year.

if CP# is healthy and we land someone like tyreke evans or will barton with the MLE, we will beat the warriors next year. no need for lebron or PG13 although i wouldn't turn them down. just saying we are close enough that all we need is one more piece with the MLE and a healthy CP3

I turned on the finals for the first time in the fourth quarter of game 4 knowing Cleveland was down 20 and about to get swept. Just so I could see the look on Lebrons face to see if it was telling me he was coming to Houston! Sure looked like a guy about to leave Cleveland! I was also hoping Curry would keep talking smack to him so he has even more incentive.

I thought they put up at least 100 three pointers everyday or every practice or something to that effect???

If you've fully bought into the ref screw job mindset, us making an extra four or five 3s won't make any difference. It's like a videogame that scales harder right when you start taking the lead.

Refs don't need to cheat all the time. They take notes of pet plays and scouting reports, then call differently to kill a run or two. It's just that teams like Rockets or Warriors have more runs so you see the cheating so blatantly.

What needs to change is allowing individual lead refs to "set the tone" of the game. The fact that a casual fan doesn't care that one ref is "tougher on road teams" or another "allows a more physical inside game" lets the league get away with scripted entertainment.

Just report it outright like the starting roster for everyone to know, even bet on, for consistency and I bet you'll have less people thinking about how rigged and ****ed up the league is.

Was just talking to wifey about that. Kind of sad that I am a 47 year old man that lives and breathes something I have absolutely no control over. Wife and kids are all tracking friends through instaface and i spend 3 hours aday seeing what u guys think about the rockets. Why is a good portion of my pride centered around a professional bball team who has 1 player from our area and the rest are chasing $.

Because when we won it was like hoisting the trophy ourselves and when we lose its us losing. 95% of this board probably dreamt of suiting up in the mustard yellow and red.
    It’s in our blood.

They will just keep it for us for a year. The history will be written and we will be remembered as a dynasty that overcomes the best team ever assembled.

Plowman i feel you but I feel pretty pretty pretty good!

...Imho the key is not to allow other ppl(eg refs, media etc) opinions determine how you feel...

In my mind rockets won this championship, end of story. But that reflects who am i as a person, I have a deep confidence in myself, i love and trust myself, thats why I am perhaps as happy as if adam silver handed us that trophy.
I also avoid hating, thus i even appreciate adam silver and know he is just a businessman and it was perhaps in the best interest of basketball and NBA for him to hand that trophy to the worriers. It was just a business decision that rockets should lose and he thus instructed the refs.
But nevermind a life is a wonderful adventure.

Will Barton does play the Rockets Style, Midrange Shots, Corner 3, Slashing to the Basket, Running the Fast Break. He is really needed, especially when he is young.

Men will always be drawn to competitive sports, the way it is. I can also follow ppl on instaface but that is depressing to me.

Buddy, we are in this together. I wonder the same thing often, but I can't abandon my passion. It would require shock treatment at this point...maybe a lobotomy.

They don't give championships for choking on a epic scale and bricking 27 consecutive 3pt shots.

The rockets either didnt have the shooting skills, or, more likely, they didnt have the ability to perform under pressure necessary to become a champion. That seems to the one thing the Warriors have in spades. Even when they lost to the cavs in 2016, it seemed to be because they didnt take the cavs seriously, tossing behind the back passes, acting like they were toying with them. They got over confident. But these rockets, for some reason, break down and lose confidence in pressure situations. Which is beyond ironic considering the "clutch city" mantra.

For the rockets to get to the Warriors level, I think they need some psychological work to move them past their blocks. The warriors hired Tim Robbins, the famous motivational guy. They seem to know the importance of confidence - and the rockets just didnt have that. They need to address that somehow, if they want to be as good as the warriors some day, IMHO
