First off for the record I am a VY fan and I wanted us to draft him (check my post history on that crazy VY vs Bush thread) All of ya'll who are saying f*** Bob McNair f*** the Texans need to think back to how it felt after our idiot mayor and Bud F***ing Adams got into a pissing match and we lost our Oilers. Think back to not having a football team for 6 long years and then fast forward to 2002 when Mr. McNair spent 700 MILLION bucks to give us football again. I am not saying the Texans have not screwed up moves and decisions and while it's gonna take years to find out how this years draft plays out I think I can say they (the texans and bob mcnair) screwed up on draft day not taking VY but IT IS DONE AND WE CANT GO BACK. I really think the Texans have tried to be as fan friendly as possible from Texans week to open training camp practices to countless other events throughout the season and it's time for H-Town to get behind these guys. So go to Reliant wear your Texans gear, cheer Vince before the game and boo Carr if you want but as soon as the ball is kicked off go suport your team that bears our citiy's name. Make Sunday sound like it did back during the first three seasons and help these guys finish strong. Trust me Mr. McNair knows how most of us feel about VY but there is nothing we can do after that ball is kicked off Sunday. So Houston be thankfull we have a team to b**** about and don't be a douch and wear titans, or UT/VY gear or cheer against David. This owner want's to win he just screwed up and listened to his football people instead of picking the guy who could of energized the state and grow the fan base, it sucks but it's over and you never know things just might work out in the long run.
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=121310 My loyalty is to the Rockets. Cause they created Vince Young and they created the Texans. At least Vince Young has instilled the qualities that ClutchCity has taught him. Vince Young is getting disrepected by the media like Merril Hodge. The Rockets Team was disrepected at every phase during the 90s. Vince Young responded with a championship performance when Reggie Bush was awarded the Heisman. Hakeem destroyed Robinson. Vince Young shocked the NFL by beating the Giants in the 4th quarter. Cassell hit the 3 to shock the Knicks in the 4th quarter. Cassell was a poised rookie with clutch abilities. Vince.
No I am saying wtf, are we gonna cry or are we gonna support our team? Are we gonna cheer on the Texans or Bud Adams team which used to be ours till he gave the fu to Houston. I knoe Bob Lanier had his hand in it but come on Bud was a native Houstonian who sold us up the river and that's bs.
Great post. [derail]Hey, are you that Greek guy they show all the time during Rockets games? For some reason I thought you mentioned you were Greek.[/derail]
Yeah I'm at every game, sometimes I bring out the Greek flag and try to pump up Billy and when I go home and re-watch the games they show us from time to time.
These are the simple rules. No barking, no growling, you will not lift your leg to anything in this house. This is not your room. No slobbering, no chewing, you will wear a flea collar. This is not your room. No begging for food, no sniffing of crotches, and you will not drink from my toilet. This is not your room.
Sounds like what my Mistress was telling me last night. I've been a bad boy, if you know what I'm saying...
what's that sign say!!?? no bare feet What's THAT sign say???!!! no fighting. what's it mean??? no fighting you owe me one gumball machine
Hey, I haven't done a rant yet so I might as well get one in. I can't speak for the die-hard VY lovers; I don't connect with that line of thinking. But for the rest of us, this is more about winning. And after watching them **** up for the last five years, what this draft and Young represent are the completely fantastic ability to make horrible decisions. I think a lot of folks were excited this offseason because we made wholesale changes. We did a lot of shifting. So it SEEMED as though that process was going to be reversed. Then came the draft. While no one can say that their later picks were mistakes, a lot of people felt there were some 'can't miss' options on the board with that #1 pick, and we passed up on all of them. Still, because of the changes people might have been willing to give them a chance. (I was one of them...I actually sort of understood not picking Young because I knew they wanted to give Carr another chance and gave them the benefit of the doubt) And of course, then came the losing. And the performances of some of the people we passed up on. So I think for some people (I'm not really sure how I feel about this) wanting to see another bad decision blow up in their face is a manifestation of how pissed off they are as fans. Maybe if their stupid decisions keep blowing up in their faces enough, they'll stop making them. In any case I just want our team to win. But if Young starts kicking the **** out of us and we lose to the freakin' Titans AGAIN, I'm not going to be pissed at Young or Young's fans. I'm going to be pissed at the Texans.
There is nothing wrong with being pissed off at your team. It doesn't mean you go root for another team.
I thought I was gonna be annoyed by another thread talking about stuff like this. But I like the sentiment of it. Even though I'm all for UT and VY, too...I'll always put the Texans over it. But we just have to realize that different people operate different ways. You can't expect other people to automatically put the Texans over their favorite player from their hometown just because it's what you (or me) do.
That was pretty good...I'll be rooting for the Texans... As they say, you can't cry over spilt milk...but its your perogative if you want to...
You paid for a ticket. You can wear anything you want as long as it is decent. Calling all Texas Exes. Wear UT and/or Titans gear! Lets represent so SportsCenter can laugh at the Houston NFL franchise.
David Carr couldn't lead a w**** to bed, much less the Texans to the playoffs. So you guys go ahead and cheer for Jason Babin, Zach Wiegart, and Chester Pitts if it makes you happy. The Texans are loser franchise run by a bunch of dumbasses.
