Just an FYI for you guys going to the Austin, Houston, or Dallas shows for VR. The Austin show tonight has been cancelled due to an illness. No word yet for the Houston or Dallas show, but it would be wise to keep your ears alert. I've called the Verizon Wireless box office and they said it has been confirmed to them that the Houston show HAS NOT been cancelled. Of course that could change tomorrow if this illness is still lingering.
Ok, official word from VR is that Weiland has a sore throat. However, there's a rumor. He had a spat with journalist Andy Lang and could be boycotting the show. Pretty stupid to screw your fans like that, if that's true. Whatever, as long as they show up for Houston. Here ya go.. link
Ok, here's an update. The Houston show is definitely on, as of this writing! On top of that, they will be shooting a video at the show!! I will definitely make my way to the front row!! I'll make sure I wear my Rockets cap to represent.
You didn't see Axl's last performance on MTV about a year or two ago? It was pretty embarassing. I'd take Weiland any day now, er, when he's not in rehab.
Whatever. Trust me, I saw it. I also saw his performance in Las Vegas and Rio. He rocked. For the MTV performance, he had to perform a 5 minute collage of a bunch of songs. Add to that, they arrived by helicopter 10 minutes prior from out of town, plus they never rehearsed it. I still don't know why he did that show. Weiland isn't half the performer or vocalist that Axl was. If Chinese Democracy ever comes out, you'll eat your words.
There is no right or wrong. Axl obviously suits your tastes and apparently you like the sound of a cat having it's tail stepped on.
If Chinese Democracy ever comes out, no human will be left on planet Earth, because it will mean hell has truly frozen over.
You're absolutely correct. There's no right or wrong when it comes to opinions. I prefer Axl, to your two-bit lounge singer wannabe, Weiland. On a serious note, I've always enjoyed Axl's raspy voice. But besides that he has an energy, a fire, and an aura about him that is very capturing. No woman, no tragedy, no bad luck has moved me as much as the original Guns N' Roses. I guess to a certain extent even when Izzy and Steven left and they added Dizzy.
I was going to buy four copies (home, car, vault, work), but now I'll buy a fifth one and ship it to ya!
It's hard to say, but The Living Things come on at 8P. They should play a 45M set. So you figure about 9:30-9:45 VR should take the stage. Then again, in LA, they made ppl wait for two hrs. I'm not showing up until 9:15P. h
