Well now that we have done nothing to bring us the championship this year. 1. What available free agents are their this summer? 2. How much longer (years) can Yao play at his peak performance?
lol, 9 game winning streak the only rotation player we gave up was for another rotation player at a position of need and we still have great young talent
Texanskan I love your optimism and enthusiasm but I personally don't think we have a chance to defeat the top 5 teams in the West. It's not like the last 9 games have been against Top title contending teams?
Future? All of the elite's got stronger and Houston pulls up with another washed up guard. What is this teams fascination with no good guards? I predict in the future that the next trade will be for a guard.
i don't quite like the bonzi-jackson swap, but to say now we're automatically out of the championship contention? that is silly. winning the next few games and we'll gain a lot of momentum.
book it, we are going to be the 2nd seed behind the Lakers 1.LA 2.Houston 3.Utah (division winner) 4.Suns 5.Spurs 6.New Orleans 7.Mavs 8.Golden St No Denver
Cold just Cold I can't stand it anymore. I don't think I can handle anymore playoff losses. I've spent almost $1000 dollars on the Rockets playoffs there past two trips. I'm not going to spend a dime this year.
I thought Morey was smart in not rushing and making a deal that we could regret later on. Fact is, even if we added a guy like Artest, we'd still have to beat at least 2 of the Lakers, Spurs, Jazz, Suns and Mavericks to get to the Finals, where'd we'd go against the Celtics or Pistons. And then you deal with Artest jumping ship this summer and we're back at square one. This team, although not significantly upgraded, is still a very good team and no team in the West would want to face us in the playoffs.
I'm high on Morey right now. Since he's come in, he's made smart deals, gotten something out of nothing, and continues on the trend of "low risk high reward deals." Snyder was going nowhere with us, so we traded him for a guy with potential and picked up some cap space. James was a bad contract, so we got rid of him and a streaky Wells for a vet with playoff experience and a shorter contract. Francis nor James have worked out, but its not like we signed Francis too a lot of money, or traded away a lot to get James (Howard). Give Morey another year or so, and Houston will be in great financial shape with flexibility to make big moves and the intelligence not to make bad ones.
Pretty much like the last twelve years; you picked the wrong day to ask this question. This owner and organization are clearly not committed to winning a championship. They are committed to making money which does not require advancing in the playoffs. The Rockets are starting to look like a professional sports con game.
