Thus spoketh Fox to Broadcasting & Cable Magazine: For those of you not in the know, Futurama is that "other" show from the folks behind the Simpsons with a SF/Fantasy orientation. There is an on-line petition, which has 25K+ "signatures" http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?futufu More info can be found at: http://www.gotfuturama.com
I think the TV viewing public can survive without Futurama... Now, Emeril, on the other hand...THAT was a show with limitless potential...
DamN! They're like 5 people signing it a second! Wow. Hit refresh and they'll be like 5-10 more everytime.
First Family Guy, then Futurama. The people who run Fox should be shot. Damn you, Rupert Murdock! Damn you straight to hell!!!
Big response tends to happen when a site gets slashdotted. Unfortunately, a significant percentage of those signatures appear to be bogus, so who knows whether Fox will take them into consideration or not.
They schedule a show in a crappy time slot that is often preempted in most of the country, give it near zero promtional support, don't play the season premiere until DECEMBER and are surprised when the ratings aren't all that high? Screw FOX. F! Them. F! them up their stupid F'ing asses. If it weren't for "24", I might stop watching that sorry excuse for a network altogether.
From what I heard, Fox officially did not pick up this show for the next season. So two great animated shows are now gone. **** Fox.
I can perfectly understand getting rid of Family Guy. That show was a load of unoriginal crap. Futurama though? That hurts.
that's ****ing stupid. Fox don't know ****. Hey, let's get rid of 2 quality shows so we can have more filler time for the new "craze" shows like Chamber, Survivor ripoff, Survivor ripoff 2 and whatever. what a bunch of shilleydidnet.
I just got an e-mail thanking me for signing the petition. I didn't and won't do it. I'm the only one on this board who doesn't like that show.
I recently discovered the beauty that is The Family Guy...and as for Futurama, that show could have been something really special. Down with Fox, up with animation.
I have never really liked the show either, RM95! I don't have any reason. I watched it a few times and it just never appealed to me much. I thought it was lacking something that the Simpsons have always had, but I can't put my finger on it. Oh well, that's just my opinion. Just wanted to tell you that you're not alone!
