This show has some pretty funny moments. It has entertained me for the most part. There are some parts that are a little slow but I have enjoyed it so far.
So many good lines and quotes from this show. I love his booth sidekick. And Amanda Peet is still hot as hell. I want to hear him interview Kenny Powers postgame.
Agreed. I've thoroughly enjoyed this show. Well casted and well acted all around. Broadcasting from the bathroom stall was hilarious.
"You can't bury that ball in a Jewish cemetery because it just got TATTOOED!" "Knowledge and assumptions, those are like Loggins and Messina. They seem similar, but time proves one of them to be totally worthless."
When he yelled "Is that what gets you hard you piece of ****!" to the 10 year old kid, I nearly pissed myself. Brockmire is amazing.
"I mean, you know, I thought I hit rock bottom in a handicapped stall in Bangkok when a Thai lady-boy snorted crank off my Johnson while a sunburned German watched us on the toilet." "Uh, quick question. So, the the German guy... was he on the toilet or was he, like, on the toilet?"
The show is absolutely f***ing hilarious. I knew it got it's start on Funny or Die but I didn't realize it was from 2010. Apparently the reason it took so long as there was a lawsuit between Azaria and another comedian who claimed he created the voice. That wasn't settled until 2014. I saw some interviews with Azaria about the character and it much of it was because he wanted to see what it was like when a broadcaster has this type of voice in everyday situations. The show does an amazing job of showing that. It's absolutely brilliant and I'm glad to see IFC has already picked up season 2...though 8 episodes is way too short. Also, Amanda Peet is fantastic.
The best quote of the series so far "We're both sprinting to outrun God's sniper rifle knowing that if we turn around, we're going to stumble and die," Jim Brockmire
Morristown has been drowning in apathy for so long, they they don't even recognize that I'm throwing them a life preserver. Plus, I'm competing with dirt-cheap entertainment that's in every home here. Cable? Meth. Aaahh. But they'll all come around soon enough 'cause I'm offering the only drug more powerful. Heroin? Nostalgia. I think you're wildly underestimating heroin.
Didn't realize this was turned into an actual series. I managed to DVR a few episodes over the weekend. This show is incredible, I'm glad it's on IFC and not one of these corny censor ridden networks.
