In particular order I think these are the funniest TV shows of all time. I only came to US in 89 so I dont know about many shows before that. (No cartoons allowed) 1 Married with Children 2 Fresh Prince 3 Friends 4 Martin 5 Simpsons 6 Gilligans Island 7 Brady Bunch 8 Cosby Show Thats all I can think of right now. ------------------ In Rudy I trust. In no particular order... SCTV Mystery Science Theatre 3000 Seinfeld Monty Python's Flying Circus The Kids In The Hall [This message has been edited by AntiSonic (edited July 05, 2000).]
Hey Simpsons dont count. But if they must then they take the fifth spot for me . ------------------ In Rudy I trust.
Ooops! Sorry, man! I didn't see the part that said no cartoons allowed. In that case, delete about half the shows on my list.
I agree with all those except Gilligans Island, I dont watch that. Wayans Brothers is another funny ass show. Those 2 are hilarious. ------------------ "I talked about what degenerates they [Mets fans] were, and they proved me right. Just by saying something, I could make them mad enough to go home and slap their moms." John Rocker
"Who's line is it anyway?" - the British version. If you haven't seen it, you don't know what your missing. =) "Absolutely Fabulous" - great British comedy about two pretentious upper-middle class women who believe success equals happiness. "Faulty Towers" - John Cleese is a LEGEND "Monty Python" - Saturday Night Who? "Action" - not one of the best of all time, but one of the best in the last few years. "Married With Children" - first of its kind to portray dysfunctional families in a humorous light. "Seinfeld" made 'nothing" - funny. "The Larry Sanders Show" - Insightful Hollywood wit. It's "Action" without the rough edges. "Dream On" - One of the first sex-related comedies that doesn't go as low or tired as "Sex in the City". ------------------ "One who conquers others is strong; One who conquers himself is mighty" - Lao Tzu
Oh yeah, I forgot "Mystery Science Theater 3000"... see the movie!!! ------------------ "One who conquers others is strong; One who conquers himself is mighty" - Lao Tzu
temujinphl- Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot Dream On! Now that was a great show. As sad as it was to see Martin get screwed over constantly it was still funny. Even in the last episode where you think Martin's finally getting the big payoff and what he dreamed about the entire series' run, Richard Stone screws up his life yet again... Tragically sad, but hillarious! Oops- forgot another gem: Mr. Show with Bob and David ------------------ WE WILL WATCH THEM FALL... next year, at least. [This message has been edited by AntiSonic (edited July 06, 2000).]
temujinphl, I can't believe that with your British oriented selection you left out "Alas Smith and Jones" ------------------ Current Rocket's Salary & Contract Info
The Wayans i have to agree with , I think that show is funnier than Fresh Prince ------------------ Will Work for Clutch 101 Book
Simpsons (the funniest show ever, it has to count!) Seinfeld NewsRadio SNL Kids in the Hall Night Court ------------------ Just because you're white and play basketball doesn't mean you're a Matt Bullard clone, despite idiotic accusations to the contrary. visit www.swirve.com
Another hilarious show that was cancelled way too early was Getting Personal with Duane Martin and Vivica Fox ------------------
The funniest show ever has to be Three's Company. I know every episode by heart and I still laugh real hard. Also, Seinfeld and Married With Children were extremely funny. ------------------ I Want To Thank God For Making Me A Rocketfan [This message has been edited by Almu (edited July 06, 2000).]
temujinphl, You also left off "One Foot in the Grave." I have only seen about 10 episodes, but they had me rolling on the floor. ------------------ "When your dead, anything's funny."-John Lennon
Seinfeld is first on my list..by far. But does anyone remember the Garry Shandling Show that was on Fox around the time that Fox came to be a major network?? That show cracked me up! ------------------
...as in "It's Garry Shandling's Show"? Man that one was incredible. So was Larry Sanders. Married with Children was awesome, but the tip of the cap goes to the Simpsons. Fawlty Towers and the Honeymooners are definitely worthy of mention as well.* *disclaimer: This is not excepting any of the shows in the posts above... ------------------
I can't believe no one has mentioned: IN LIVING COLOR (I almost cry laughing just thinking about it: Fire Marshal Bill, Vera, Homey da Clown, Men on Books) Others in Top Tier: Seinfeld (A show where EVERY character is funny) Fawlty Towers (John Cleese is amazingly funny) News Radio (With Phil Hartman) SNL (It has it's moments) America's Funniest Home Videos (I laugh my ASS off watching that show. People sliding into cars just cracks me up.) Some in the next level: Kids in the Hall I Love Lucy The Honeymooners Strangers with Candy Three's Company Mad TV SCTV Bizarre Benny Hill I'll have to add more as I think of them... ------------------------ These are only MY personal opinion. I am not saying this is where each of these shows should be ranked for every person on the Earth.
You guys have forgotten about the funniest sitcom of all time. All in the Family Also, there used to be a show called "Friday's" Micheal Richards got his start on this show. Anybody remember it? It was hilarious. (similar to "Living Color") ------------------ "When your dead, anything's funny."-John Lennon
