Hathaway Peterman Funeral Home of Wheatland returned the body of 74-year-old Robert Holder to the home he and girlfriend Nancy King had shared in Cross Timbers. That was after Holder's daughter failed to come up with 12-hundred dollars for cremation. The State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors is looking into the matter. Officials say the funeral home could face a range of punishment -- from a disciplinary letter to revocation of its operating license. Gary Peterman of the funeral declines comment. Meanwhile, Jim Miller of Reser Funeral Home in neighboring Warsaw has picked up the body. Miller says he'll take care of the cost of cremation
Not the first time this has happened either. When these kind of things happen, it makes me sick. That funeral home needs to be put out of business.
