My 1B: Doug Mientkiewicz, David Ortiz

My SPs: Curt Schilling, Wade Miller, Brad Radke, Andy Pettitte, David Wells, Pedro Astacio

My OFs: Mark Quinn, Albert Pujols, Lance Berkman, Sammy Sosa, Preston Wilson

I received the following trade proposal:

I acquire: Todd Helton, Chan Ho Park, and Tim Crabtree

I give: Brad Radke and David Wells

I wasn't sure if I should do this trade or not so I declined it and countered his offer with my own. Here it is:

I acquire: Todd Helton, Kerry Wood, and Vladimir Guerrero

I give: Brad Radke, David Wells, Sammy Sosa

What do you think of this trade? Should I have accepted the first trade if he declines the second? Let me know what you think.

You should have accepted the first one. Helton is the best firstbaseman in baseball. Chan Ho is equal to (if not better) than Radke. Crabtree is basically a throw in as he won't be a stud closer. The Twins and Radke are hot right now, but will it last all season? The WhiteSox are struggling, so Wells won't get as many wins as he had with the Yanks or Bluejays.

Kerry Wood instead of Chan Ho?

He accepted my trade proposal. Kerry Wood looked good in his last outing by racking up more strikeouts than in any game since his surgery. I could be wrong, but I think Wood will be more productive this season fantasy-wise. I really like this trade. Helton gives me one of the three best offensive weapons in fantasy baseball and I see Guerrero as an upgrade over Sosa. Not to mention, Sosa was stuck on my bench. The loss of Wells is not significant in my opinion as I don't see him having as good a year as last season. Radke will regress as the season goes on. The Twins will not stay HOT forever. I think I came out on top with this trade.

Now I have to see about trading Ortiz.

Alright Finn or anyone else, let me know what you think. Keep in mind, that I already am in first place in my league and the second-place team is not very close.

I acquire: Pedro Martinez, Luis Gonzalez

He acquires: Curt Schilling, Vladimir Guerrero, Roberto Alomar, David Ortiz

I already have Todd Walker and Luis Castillo at 2B. My OF is stocked with Albert Pujols, Lance Berkman, Mark Quinn, and Preston Wilson. Add Luis Gonzalez to the mix with the trade. My 1B include Todd Helton and Doug Mientkiewicz.

If you were him what would you do? Accept or decline?

Oh, and just in case you are wondering, I have three different fantasy teams at Sandbox so that is the reason you may be wondering why I have different players each time I ask for your advice.

countingcrow, BobFinn others that play Fantasy Games - why don't you join in on the CC.net NBA sim. We currently have 19 teams of 29 - 9 eastern and 10 western. I know you will start out with a bad roster and have no shot at winning this 2nd season we are about to start. But we are moving this franchise thing quickly and we could even be starting season 4 before the next real NBA season starts - and you get to build your team into contending for the playoffs and then even to go deeper - and perhaps even contend for the title soon. The west is pretty loaded at the moment, but in the east you could perhaps even qualify for the playoffs this season - if lucky. But perhaps joining the west could also be smart in the long run as the though competition will give you good draftpicks.

Think about it. It is fun.

Thanks for the offer Heath, but I have a lot to do already with three fantasy baseball teams on my hands. I barely have enough time to keep my teams updated as it is without adding another team to keep up with.
