    According to Yahoo:

Our Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Knicks just traded Channing Frye and Steve Francis to Portland for Zach Randolph, Dan Dickau and Jerome James. That would be a nice deal for New York. Hot rumor is Miami may grab DePaul forward Wilson Chandler at No. 20. - 8:36 pm EDT

Whoa since when did James moved to Portland? I think James is part of the group going to Portland. Anyways, excellent trade for the Knicks. The fact they got rid of James' contract somewhat mitigates Randolph's bad contract. Essentially a Frye for Randolph trade, Knicks got serious value on this one. But isn't Frye and Alridge essentially the same player??? The Blazers will have some delicious trade baits this summer.

actually, i think this works more for portland. but now they got three good young 7 footers, frye, oden, aldrige. So they are stacked on talent. francis..uh, he's going to retire or get bought out. I feel bad for him, there IS a worse place for him than NY.

NY gets screwed a little more. they had the problem of trying to decide to play lee or frye. now it will be randolph or lee. they got rid of francis. Is jerome going into the deal to make the salary work? talk about another player on the knicks who is useless.

Portland has $30 million expiring 2 years from now, before any of their young players enter big deals. So they'll be big players in the FA market, along with a core of Webster, Roy, Outlaw, Aldridge and Oden.

    Not bad.

    Damn...that's REALLY cheap for Randolph.

Frye is a Mark Blount clone and Steve Francis is washed up.

Very good trade for NYC if Randolph can get his head outta his arse long enough to play like he's capable of.

    Spike Lee clearly approves :D

Awesome. I get dragged to several Knicks games a year and anything that makes them a little more watchable is a good thing.

That and this ends the "oooh we need Steve Francis's heart on our bench" crap for awhile.

Are you serious? Just when you think Portland is getting its act together they go and trade a big contract for the worst contact in the league. Just stupid! I am glad my boy KD is not playing for that nutcase of a team.

How many years does Francis have left on his deal?

Don't you understand Steve Francis only has 2 years left that means Portland will go summer shopping in 2009. However the Knicks just took another 60+ mil contract they will regret it 6 months.

Frye is a steal for Blazers and add more beef up front.

Winner: Portland. They saved a ton of money.

With Curry and Randolph, the knicks now have the worst rebounding and defense frontcourt in the league history!

Do we still need/want SF3, since we already traded for Mike James? Maybe we sign SF3 off the buyout and then trade Alston for PF help?

I don't think Isaiah likes cap space, even if it's 2 years away. That's too close for him.

I agree with you again. Just give Z Bo a few months in New York. I can't imagine a worse place for such an undisciplined person. Trading his contract for SF's contract is like lifting a millstone off their back. Once again, Zeke accepts a gigantic contract for a smaller one. Same song, 10th verse. At the very least, Zeke should have made the Blazers swallow Jerome James.

My first instinct on this rumor was: No way the Blazers do it. But these terms are so slanted in their favor it isn't funny. With the addition of Z Bo, the Knicks will continue being the biggest sideshow in the East. He and Eddie Curry are not a good matchup on the offensive end and Curry's game will suffer big time. When the conflicts start and the Knicks support Curry, Zach Randolph will be the player that finally got Zeke fired. Remember this post.

I really cannot believe this trade happened. Isiah Thomas will go down in history.

If we can move Rafer to get a PF, then we do it. If not, I don't see the point in having James, Alston, V-Span, Lucas and possibly Francis. I am a HUGE francis supporter and fan but the Mike James deal has lowered the chances of Stevie Franchise coming back home.
