I don't understand. I get pulled over for not having a front license plate weeks after taking it off. My friend has never been pulled over and he hasn't had the front license plate for over a year. And every day I see 2 or 3 cars without them. So why do some people get pulled over and others don't?

I don't have one on my car.

I live in Houston - I got pulled over for speeding a couple of weeks ago - gave a little attitude to the cop running the speed trap - and he tacked on a ticket for no front plate at the very end of our time together...

I have one even though it sucked to put it on the Mustang GT.

I have been pulled over for not having one. If you didn;t get a ticket then what do you care?

I don't have one on my Z but I keep the plate in storage in the car. If I get pulled over I plan on the "I just got the car out of the shop and they had to take it off for body work."

As there are no drilled holes I doubt it'll work, but I'm knocking on wood. Putting a plate on the front of a sports car just completely ruins the look.

Damn I wish I had thought of that...

and i agree with your second point - that's why i never drilled holes in my front bumper to install one...

but if i continue to rack up tickets - i'll have to buckle down and do it...

What's the point of 2 plates anyway? Seems like a waste of metal to me.

Yup, that's probably the best way to get out a ticket. Cops are just being extremely picky if they pull you over for that.

Since I do have illegal tint on my car, I plan on rolling down my front windows and if the cop tells me to roll them up to check the tint, Ill try and pull the "I bought the car this way officer...I had no idea."

I got pulled over for it in my Vette. I have mentioned it here before. It was in a residential neighborhood, this cop always poaches on our area, I don't get it. I was pulled over right in front of a newer model Vette which was in a driveway. That Vette had no front plate either. I pointed at it as I made fun of the situation. Yada yada yada I saw him in court where I proceeded to shove that ticket up his...

    Wha?

You got out of this? How? By putting a front plate on your vette and providing proof of such in court?

This is what I'll do if i get pulled over again - but i really don't want to drill holes in my vette. I gotta go to the corvette forums and see if they sell an alternative solution.

It just looks terrible on a BMW. But I didn't have to drill holes to put it on. It comes with a plastic holder thing. So I guess I'll just keep it in the car and use the excuse mentioned above.

I've gotten a ticket for this before, and if you take a picture of your car with the front plate attached, they'll waive the ticket.

I have a 330 ci, it would look much worse with a front license plate. Therefore, I dont have one and luckily, I havent been pulled over during the 4 years that Ive owned the car.

How much is a ticket? If its not that much, I'd prefer to just take the risk and pay the fines than to put a plate up front.

You have to drill holes? You have a newer model? I thought if the car doesn't come with a front plate you don't have to put it on. Guess not. I have a Stingray. I just did trial by jury and made fun of the absurdity of the ticket. It takes time, a normal person would just pay the thing or do what you planned on.

I have an 07 C6 - it doesn't have a bracket or anything for a front plate. I would have to drill holes into the bumper to screw a plate on - or find some alternative way to attach a plate to it...

I was never pulled over for it but it's an easy thing for them to tack on if they pull you over for speeding or whatever.

A alternative to drilling holes is to put suction cups on plate and stick it on the inside of your window.

As long as it is visible in your front window they cant give you a ticket
