how many players can you name that have gone from stars to scrubs in the last couple of years? (also not because of age, like ewing)

jr rider and shawn kemp come to mind, what happened to their desire?

Everyone on that list had injuries this season. They don't qualify.

Not really a scrub, but then he never really was a star.

I dont know if this dude ever could be considered a star but you'd think he was one after the last offseason.

What about Ed O'Bannon? You remember him...

He came out of UCLA about 5 years ago. He was supposed to be awesome. Does anyone know where he is now?

Tom Gugliotta was selected to the US Olympic Team and now he's not even a starter.

    How about...

Joe Smith - #1 pick overall, has never fulfilled his potential, and involved in screwing the T-Wolves out of a bunch of draft picks.

Damon Stoudamire - The Mighty Mouse in Toronto, the underachiever in Portland.

Michael Olowakandi - #1 pick overall and still not worth much.

    I think they still qualify:

Penny: Been injured, but he's fragile. Plus he's a whiner.

Anderson: Been a scrub for many years now.

Coleman: I wouldn't say he's a scrub. Great season last year; this year having some trouble but he may still bounce back.

Starks: Has always been a role-player.

Pippen: Total scrub ever since he left the Bulls. He's had some injuries this season, but he's been a scrub for years now.

Rice: Same as Pippen, he's been a scrub since he left Charlotte.

Johnson: Same as Rice, been a role-player since he left Charlotte. He's a pretty good role-player but has always been 3rd or 4th option in New York.

Actually, he's been a scrub his entire career. Where would he be if there was no MJ?

Well Gugliotta had a knee surgery or two and missed the entire first half of the season. I think he has been playing better of late. I don't know if he qualifies.

He's playing for the L.A. team in the new ABA league, after a couple of years overseas.

Probably the best cautionary example for anyone regarding Shane Battier.

When were they ever stars, they were just drafted too high by the respective teams.

Stoudamire was a pretty good player in toronto.

Smith had a good rookie and sophomore season.

15,8 in rookie and 18,9 in sophomore.

Smith and Stoudamire are great examples. They were 1-2 in the Rookie of the Year voting in '95-'96, if I remember it right.

So that is the best example of Battier after college basketball?
