First, thank you guys being so nice to me. I think Yao's two problems are: (in simple words and I am at work right now)

    1. confidence. I can understand this, since I am from china also.

    2. His defense, not offense!!!!!!! He just moves too slow/ or say a timing problem.

    What are you talking about?

Yao has already been a top 3, if not the best, one on one defensive big manin the whole league.

Try to name 1 center who can beat Yao on the offensiv end!

Yao ming's biggest problem is that he will never be a superstar unless the refs start giving him more superstar calls. All of those little uncalled fouls really throw him off, but they are fouls. If the refs start calling those, he'll make a living at the free throw line.

    Zhao,

If you go back in the past 30 days, I'm willing to bet that you'll find at least 5 placeholders for these comments. I'm telling you if you keep it up, you'll get the Tybrave treatment.

Though in no way, your thread in no way compares, here it is:

Just trying to help you out.

Stop start those nonsense thread, Defence never be his weakness, he just spends too much energy on covering his teammates on defence end, struggle a little bit on offence.

    well, here is the WHY,

I still remember last year Phil Jackson said "Yao's offense is alsmost as good as Shaq, but he needs work on his defense"

a loop: Yao got so many similar D-foul trouble like 3th last night and limit his offense

You have to add stamina to your list.

If he can work effectively more than 35 min per game, he is naturally a 20/10 guy. And he has more energy to go for defensive boards every time.

If you watch very closly last night, you will see when the game is on the line and T-mac is hurt, yao is going for defensive boards very actively. Before that, he just did some box-out. I think it is his strategy to save the energy. His stamina is just not qualified for a star in NBA.

Could you be more specific? Are you saying the confidence problem is typical for people from China?

He has totally weak hands is my main grip, and he is so damn slow at keeping track of the ball.

Speaking of Yao, I just watched a replay of last nights game and there was a part late in the game (when Yao missed the two FT), when he went up and when he was fouled he went down as if he was shot like 30 times with a machine gun. It was really strange to see. He was shaking and everything on his way down to the floor.

Hopefully he will step it up again soon, hopefully on Saturday. Last night was one to forget.

    2-9 shooting, 6pts, 5 fouls, 5 turnovers, 0 assists, 9 rebounds.

Dude. All these haters out there.

    I agree.

Defense is a big issue for Yao. Sure he's a good one on one defender, but he's a horrible help defender. He doesn't rotate fast enough.

He steps in front of guys driving to take foul instead of going up to challenge them. Doug Collins said this really bothered him about big guys and it bothers me too.

I agree with the points in this thread. Except that it's not really confidence it's more of a personality trait. Yao's not an aggressive guy.
