Next to talent, team chemistry is critical. The Rocket's players appear to get along pretty well, but what players have really become close friends? We know about Frances and Mobley, but does anyone have information about other friendships on the team. With the diversity of the team this would be interesting. For example, has Yao found a player or players who he actually "hangs out" with. How about Griffin, Cato, or Taylor; who do they relate to "after hours." As a fan, I would like to know. Such relationships can seriously affect the way the team plays.
I know that Steve, Cat, and Mooch are good friends. I'm sure that Yao hangs out with Steve, Cat, and his translator. Yao might hang out with Mooch, since Mooch always goes nuts on the bench when he scores.
chemistry is vital, but friendships don''t equal chemistry. It is the way people understand each other's game on the court that determines it. Stockton and Malone probably aren't friends off the court and never would have been, but they have chemistry.
Actually they are really good friends and have dinner together with their families quite often. I saw an ESPN special on Karl and it showed the two families, this is back when they had hornacek too and his family was there too.
Friendship outside the court will help them inside the court/game. It's easier to understand the player's game off the court, because you communicate with them more IMO.
Yao had dinner with Boki and his girlfriend, only that Boki is not playing. moochi is the one who constantly playing with Yao in the practice. They sometimes play one on one, if Moochi get by Yao, Yao will catch him and lift him up in the air.

Nachbar and Yao actually hang out when they get a chance. They are in the same boat pretty much and they have each helped each other along the way as rooks. Mooch is part of the Steve Cuttino crowd. EG sits with KT or MoT on the bench. Rice can't play, so he doesn't get any friends. Or maybe this is why he isn't playing well. Because like yall have said, chemistry is detrimental to success, and if the Rocket players show no love to Rice, he won't be successful.

Yesterdays game (Cavs), I saw Ming playing with Nachbar's hair. I think they have something going on...
I think francis and cato have a friendship. not sure, but it appeared that way this summer, when francis was takling about cato all the time and sticking up for him.
They (Ming and Boki)are good friends now. They did have a dinner together last week with Boki's girlfriend and Pine. They talked about they heard that the preseason games of next year of Rockets and Kings will be held at Shanghai. Norris likes Ming a lot. He said Ming is his third child. He has two young daughters. Taylor likes Ming too. After the lakers game, he shaked Ming's shoulders at the locker room and shouted," Great dunk, buddy!" Is this my 1000 post?
