Its overrated because it isn't funny. The individual actors aren't funny, and worst of all, its a rip off of Seinfeld, a show just about friends. It just a Seinfeld for more mainstream viewers.

    Good riddance.

I quit watching years ago when they all started dating eachother.

Personally, I liked it. I'm glad it is over. It's run its course. But, I thought it was funny as hell.

obviously you never watched Seinfeld that much. Elaine is cute, but the women Seinfeld dated and George for that matter are hot. They're real, and they're spectular.

I guess this brings up the debate of if you are a Friends or Seinfield fan. I personally didnt think Seinfield was that great at all. I guess i didnt really give it a chance. I always liked Friends, thought the whole cast was hilarious, I kept up with it for awhile, then I started working in 2000 in which I worked on Thursdays. But I am catching up with the DVDs, I own all 7 that are released at the moment.

EXACTLY my thoughts. the past couple of seasons have been painful...but the scripts for this show were fantastic...and the actors delivered on that big time.

Me too. I'm more of a Seinfeld fan, but I've always liked Friends too.

I watch both Friends and Seinfeld...of course I'll miss it but the WB (WB39 in Houston) runs reruns of Seinfeld, Everbody Loves Ramond, Cheers, Friends and Will and Grace (I hate Will and Grace) so its all good because I never really watched the new episodes only the reruns

I loved both shows. But this is a thread about the season finale of Friends, so let's stop comparing. I'm glad that they are having a clip show before the actual last episode because I didn't like that Seinfeld ended with a elaborate clip show.

I like it and I'm going to miss it. I agree...it's run its course.

I enjoyed my weekly fix of Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, laughs, and Friends moments for years. Now, I have to find a new fix I guess.

No Seinfeld or Friends or even Frasier(which I didn't care for). Where do we laugh at now? Seinfeld and Friends were my shows for laughs and good vibes.

Now what? We need a show that can capture what these two shows have captured? I see none.

    :(

Seinfeld was crap in its last few years(Larry David leaving was probably the reason). Friends was pretty weak in its 6th and 7th seasons, but I thought it bounced back nicely for its last 3 years. That being said, the storylines are all played out at this point, so it's good that they're ending it now.

The show is funny to longtime viewers because there are a lot of "inside" jokes. To understand them, you need to have watched the show for quite some time. For those that never watch the show and then happen to stumble across an episode, then you are missing out on the humor.
