I love Samuel L. Jackson, but he hasn't made a really good movie in quite a while, and makes a lot of absolute garbage.
Snakes on a Plane (upcoming) Freedomland Coach Carter Epiosde III State of the Union The Man Twisted The Incredibles Basic SWAT Episode II Changing Lanes Formula 51 Rules of Engagement Shaft Unbreakable This is since 2000 (and I could go beyond that). From this list, his best movie (and best work) was the Incredibles, to which he supplied only voice work and wasn't the star. It also proves my theory that the guy cannot act unless he has a good director behind him (Brad Bird, M. Night). I used to be somewhat of a fan, but after so many misses and uninspiring works, I have come to the conclusion that the guy is overrated. And Freedomland looks like it his some moments, but again, doesn't look anything special. Combine that with poor reviews and I think I'll pass.... Go see Curious George instead
I agree. He has become a one-sided one-character guy. I was expecting more from him in Episode III I did. Curious George is a GREAT movie. Take some Kleenex for you AND your kids.
i dont think he's overrated (talent-wise). he's just completely sold himself out to whoever that wants to pay him money to appear in their movie. cant really blame him. i read somewhere he was sick of getting overlooked by the academy for his performance in some of his earlier movies.
the movie wasn't that great. the acting was good in the movie but the storyline was kinda predictible but yet confusing at the same time. some scenes need to be here and not there and also some scenes shouldn't be neccessary. i would give it a D+
