So all other issues must be ignored and condoned? Are you seriously only capable of dealing with one issue at a time?

You couldn't care less about those brown children, but good job deflecting attention from your other bigotry.

You fixate on that issue, America is up to even more nefarious things (like dumping toxic waste that poisons children or preying on the debt of poor crippled nations through vulture funds). Of course, those are mostly the fault of American corporations, so I suppose you can't score political points off that.

Rand Paul thinks the government should be neutral about gay marriage - but if it has to be involved its should be at the state level. It took Obama to last week to "evolve" to the stance Rand has had for years. And Rand didn't want to wait to get on The View television show to express his opinion.

Rand has his own, personal judeo-christian based definition of marriage, and I can respect them. That's called tolerance - something the Left professes to have but really doesn't have at all.

I just find it completely bizarre that this could be bigger news than Obama's signing of the NDAA, the assassination of American citizens etc etc. Hell, this got two threads from the Socialist scum in the D&D. It must be just as important.

Measure of importance of political topics to our lives---the difference between one thread and two threads started in the Clutchfans BBS.

interesting. it's not like some of us might have started petitions or coordinated with local groups to, I don't know, say get Thomas Drake freed and try to get Bradley Manning freed, rather than posting about the same topic on this forum with dark and seething (and ultimately useless) rage?

Incidentally, how is being a religious libertarian holding up? No rules except those inspired by 2nd century-men, AMIRITE.

i personally prefer classic libertarians, the Ron Paul types are just bleh.

That's interesting, considering that he's an noxious bigot most of the time on most civil rights issues.

I assume he won't help filibuster the repeal of DOMA? Oh wait...

Ah - the beauty of leftist tolerance. It's such a wonderful thing.

Rand Paul fights the civil right abuses from the power hungry Democrats.

Supporting DOMA so that the Federal Government can not define marriage makes sense.

It makes sense to force homosexuals to stay closeted? Really? That's a defense of civil rights?

I'm also curious how having the Federal Govt. define marriage is somehow sticking up for not having the Federal govt. involved in marriage.

DOMA is a great law, if you think freedom shouldn't apply to gays.

You do realize that DOMA defines marriage, right? The Federal Government defining marriage is the opposite of the Federal Government not defining marriage, in case that wasn't clear.

I don't think DOMA and Federal Marriage Amendment are the same.
