    Hi,

Since I know a lot of you are IT professionals, can I ask you guys to recommend a good free web host that does the following:

    1. Preferrably no ad, small logo is fine
    2. Has MySQL 4.x & PHP 4.x
    3. FTP

I just want a simple host that can help me test out some of my PHP/mySQL web application I wrote. I tried SourceForge.net, they are still using MySQL 3.x which doesn't support nested SQL query.

    Thanks a lot.

You can go to google and search for a "list free web hosts" or similar and get more links.

Guessing that you have a computer running Windows......................you already run MySQL and Apache on it for testing purposes?

I have a VMWare virtual machine that runs LAMP. However, it's not the same as testing live online.

I tried Lycos Tripod UK. They provide both MySQL & PHP, however, they're also using the older MySQL. How come some hosts don't upgrade to newer mysql already?
