The Blazers hit 90% for their free throws in game 1, and I noticed that the fans did not execute the proper free throw defense. If anyone is in the Red Rowdies, please email me at seeingrocketred@yahoo.com and I can tell you what needs to be organized. (It's the same thing that has been done in previous years). Please do not post the answer on this public board. Last year's playoff opponent free throw stats by game: Game 1: 12-19 63.2% Game 2: 15-21 71.4% Game 3: 13-23 56.5%
Fans randomly waiving their hands does nothing. The entire crowd moving in unison behind the glass gives the illusion of motion.
The Blazers have shot 96.2% from the free throw line at Toyota Center so far this series. This from a team that shoots 76% during the regular season. Everyone who is waving behind the basket when they are shooting needs to sway together, not just randomly wave your arms. If anyone in the Rowdies reads this, make the "sway together" sign like in previous years so people can follow the sign's movement. It's worth several points per game, and can be the difference.
I love an involved and active crowd but does stuff like making noise and waving make any difference for NBA players shooting free throws? The only real free throw defense is to not make stupid fouls.
