No, not Napster! Most of you know I've been a musician for a long time. Some of you have asked what kind of music I play. Well, here's your chance to tell me what you think. (Be nice!) Below are links to some MP3 files I recently uploaded. The songs were done in my studio with my partner. Descriptions are below in alphabetical order. Let me know what you think. Bye, Bye Johnny (3.3 MB) Dave Matthews-style music but more Duncan Sheik-style song and vocals. I played/programmed everything except B3 organ, violin, sax and congas. My partner sung all the parts. Meanest Man in the World (2.4 MB) This is like a B-side song. It has a lot of wierd effects and a Beck-style loop. This was more for fun than anything. I played/programmed everything except harmonica. My partner sang all the parts. Meeting Across the River (3.7 MB) This is actually a cover of a Bruce Springsteen song he did on Born to Run. It is done in the style of Sting or Seal. I played/programmed everything except sax and congas. My partner sang all the parts. She Calms My Nerve (3.7 MB) Sqeeze/Crowded House style song done with minimal instrumentation and essentially unplugged. I played/programmed everything except drums, congas and B3 organ. My partner sang all the parts. This Town (3.2 MB) This is probably another B-side candidate. Basically, a big rock song a la Born to Run. I played/programmed everything except sax and B3 organ. My partner sang all the parts. A Walk Through the Valley (5.0 MB) This is definitely my favorite. I'm not sure how to describe it except that it is a heavily layered pop song with elements of the Beatles, drum loops, strings and other things. I played/programmed everything except violin and viola. My partner sang all the parts except for a couple of back ups. Have at 'em. Oh, and they are all copywritten, so don't get any funny ideas!!! ------------------ "You know what they say about the music business. Good stuff man. Listening to "Bye Bye Johnny" right now. I like it a lot. You really play that drum part? I like it. Grooves really well man. Will listen to the rest as the day goes on. Gotta finish laundry now. ------------------ Nuggets4 The Pinnacle - Proof that Rivals.com Isn't COMPLETELY Evil! http://www.NugsPinnacle.com
I should be clear about the drums. I did not "play" any of the drum parts. With the exception of She Calms My Nerve which was played by a friend, I programmed all the drums with a drum machine. I've been doing that (and making good money on occassion) since the late 80's. I prefer the real thing, but programming is very convienent and easy on the budget. ------------------ "You know what they say about the music business. Great jams Jeff. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org
My personal favorite is She Calms My Nerve. They would probably play it on 99.1 here in Houston. ------------------
Thanks guys. ------------------ "You know what they say about the music business. Here today, gone TODAY! - Chris Rock at the MTV Music Video Awards
We played "Bye, Bye Johnny" last night when Rocketman95 and TheFreak were over at my place to watch the game. Very cool and everyone thought so... I just can't believe you play this. It's just amazing. I'm listening to "Meanest Man in the World" now and I think this is going to be my favorite -- like this one a lot. Listening to it for a second time. I haven't listened to them all yet though so I'll comment more then. ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
