I was wanting to watch the dvd to Bourne Identity that my roomy just bought. His girlfriend is here and they're always watching TV, so don't want to bug him I was gonna just watch it on my computer. But I re-formatted recently and I don't have WinDVD anymore... god knows where the CD to that is...

so is there something you can download from the web to play DVDs that's free?

before someone inevitably tells me to try google.com... i did and couldn't really find one. but i'm sure if there were, somebody would know about it.

    thanks

I believe that you have to have a pre-existing codec with both WM and Real to play DVDs, I may be wrong...

I won't tell you to go to Google, but I will tell you to go to www.download.com and search for "free dvd player".

yeah... i did that but they were all "free to try, $X to buy"... and the only free one was "play DVD video to which you have the codecs for"...
i mean if i had the codec then i would have just used winmplayer... sheesh...

dude that was so money man.

it's not as good as WinDVD... but for a free program it's pretty darned awesome.

just used it to watch "the Graduate" because I didn't feel like watching Bourne Identity...

but in any case thanks a bunch.

Even the one that says "VLC" aka Videolan Media Player which was the most popular/had the highest user rating on the resulting page?

Geez, what do I have to - walk you through every click? :D
