FREE BOSTJAN NACHBAR Everyone needs to go to the rockets game with a sign that says "FBN". its about time he plays and we can even start a lil chant and maybe rudy the r****d will let him play. and i juss wanted to say avery johnson is a monkey!
The lack of PT for Nachbar is disturbing. The fact of the matter is none of us are/were at practices and saw what the kid provided. But, it is a little insulting to Nachbar himself and to the intelligent fans (i.e. us) to proclaim time and time and time again that there just is no PT for him because of all the players that need to get in there, etc, etc and then to immediately slip Morris back in the lineup when he got off the IL. This tells me either (a) Nachbar is in Rudy's doghouse or (b) he isn't as good as was proclaimed. Of course, if it is choice (b), it may just be because we are so poorly coached that Nachbar hasn't fit into our "system" or "rotation" or lack thereof.
So, the decision of drafting ChocolateBar was a mistake? Or it just paves the road for Rudy to trade for another player in the middle of the season depending on how the rotation evolves?
Man, whenever I see the rocks on TV. I am yelling "I wanna see Boki!!!!". If Moochie can play 30 min, why can't Boki? We all should write Rudy an email about this
Isn't Boki still healing on the sideline? The last time we rushed him into the game he hurt his hernia again. I think they want to make sure he's ready for next year. Plus, we know how Rudy is. He keeps players on the court that have earned it. Boki will get his chance, believe me! Rice will not be here forever. Boki is really more like Terrance Moris, but with a shot.
Its become apparent that as many Chinese fans we have on here because of Yao, we have just as many Slovenian fans because of Boki.
Is he? If he's hurt and has been all this time, why not just put him on the IL and add a player who may actually help the team (even if it is extremely unlikely) So they're taking the never give him any PT to learn anything approach. We'll see how that turns out Sadly, he doesn't keep players on the court that ARE earning it. I.e. less of Moochie, more Hawkins. What about KT and Terrance Morris. Surely they are both way ahead of Boki on the PT list. How can you tell? He hasn't played in weeks. When he did play in the preseason, though, he didn't seem to be quite the player Morris is defensively. At this point, I don't see Boki getting any PT this year, unless the team starts to suck or a bunch of people get injured. I understand he was picked more as a longterm project (how many times has Rudy said where he - or other players on our team - would be if they were still in college - Rudy, if you think they still only have college level talent, then why did you pick them??), but it seems to me that it owuld have been just as useful longterm to trade the pick.
That was my question! That's why I think the staff is going slow with him. They want to make sure he's healed. Plus, he's not going to go "all out" if he's taking it easy (in practice). So, bring put him in the game at the expense of re-injuring his hernia? I think not. Yes. They are. But in the next few months you never know. One of them could get injured (God forbid) or get in the "dog house" and by then maybe Boki will be healed. I was talking about his offensive game. If you want to talk about defense, let me know. Your last paragraph seems like you are just agreeing with me after all. I still don't know what point you were trying to make in the first place. You just regurgitated my main points (except trading Boki).
Unless Boki is in fact injured - and he isn't on the injured reserve list - it is downright criminal to keep him from playing. Such poor shooting performances by the team thus far, yet the 'steal of the draft' who was already NBA ready just sits there. Sad! I'm so baffled by this that I refuse to think about it anymore (except every 2 or 3 days when someone starts yet another post on this topic). Its just stupid to bench someone who can pop 25 of 27 three-pointers, even if it was in practice.
Rudy is on the Rich and Charlie show everyweek on 610. Maybe one of us can call him and ask about Boki. I'll see if I can get through. This team needs shooters, and Boki might be our best one.
I really just wish someone in the Rockets org. would address the issue so that i can find out why my man boki isn't getting even garbage minutes. But then again, I can't think of a game this year where there were 'garbage' minutes. Maybe if we see a blow out (up or down) boki could get some minutes. Until then, im still pretty confused with the rotations and why he's not getting ANY consideration.
If Rudy is conservative about giving minutes to a No.1 pick(no garbage minutes in the Warriors game), it's natural for him to be even more conservative to invest in a No.15 pick.
Or maybe Boki came to us thanks to Dream (remember the rip we had at Raptors expense)...adn now that Dream's jersey has been hoisted........welll.......or maybe can someone check what Rudy's been on lately after telling us that he didnot intentionally bench Eddie yesterday.
Rudy is trying to figure out his starting lineup and top 8 right now. He really doesn't have time trying to work a rookie in for minutes when said rookie wouldn't have a chance to crack the top 8 for regular PT anyway. It's the curse of having a deep team. However, Boki has NBA quality coaching staff to help him develop his game, strength, and conditioning. When he comes in, he truly should be ready to play. Besides, European teams work the same way. Seniority means more than ability and you have to slowly work your way in. I don't think this is really coming as a shock to Nachbar.
Oh, we do agree. We both agree that Boki won't be getting any playing time this year. It's just while you are basing a lot of your opinion on the fact that he may or may not be injured - we don't really know...all we know is that every time Rudy is on 610 and someone asks him about Boki he references the hernia injury from 6 months ago and says how it has slowed him down and how if he was in college he'd only be a junior. I'm arguing that in the end, these sound like excuses for the fact that he simply is one of the worst players on our team on the practice squad - he must be. So in the end, I think we would have been as well off long term if we used that pick in another manner - traded it with a player (perhaps KT) to move up, traded it for a future pick, etc, etc. The point I'm trying to make is that I don't want to be told time and time again over the summer that we got a steal with a player that should contirbute immediately, then to hear excuse after excuse when it doesn't happen. Why not just say the truth. "We thought he would contirbute immediately, but he is really much further behind than we expected and won't be helping at all this year." I guess that would be too detrimental to his psyche
I don't think it was the practice thing. Shouldn't the coach staff review all the tapes before drafting? They should know him well enough before even considering him??
Don't worry about Bostjan Nachbar, he is sitting on the bench because that is how they learn how to play over there in Italy. The youger players sit on the bench even if they are a better player than the ones starting. I think RudyT is doing the same thing with Boki, and I think Boki agrees that it will help him and he is used to that. Nachbar is going to be the Rockets future starting SF, just wait I promise that. I would not mind the the Rockets traded for Nikoloz Tskitishvili, Nachbar team mate in Italy and the player RudyT realy wanted to get, before we got the #1 pick.
