Who is/are the best player(s) the Rockets can probably get in the offseason? I don't think the Rockets have a real shot at superstars like Tim Duncan and Grant Hill but I know there have got to be some good players out there that the Rockets could possibly could get to come to Houston. Does anybody have any names?

I see Cato and Drew out of here. First thing I just want the rockets to do is sign Cuttino to a nice contract.

What about Ben Wallace of Orlando. Any thought whether he could contribute?? He has raised his FT% 15 points in only three years (to 47%). At this pace in only like nine more years he will be threatening Calvin's record [IMG]

On a serious note, does anyone think he is better than Pig??

BTW-here are other FA's listed in a thread someone put in the wrong forum. http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum9/HTML/000103.html

Brian Grant is a free agent? A healthy Brian Grant sounds good to me. Not only can he be a top notch player, but he's a top notch individual as well.

Rashard Lewis. I really think he will sign with us

Keep in mind that the Rockets are over the cap, so the most that we could offer Lewis is our middle class exception. If that happened, I can't imagine that Seattle wouldn't match that offer and keep him (remember Seattle has right of first refusal). If Rashard is going to end up with the Rockets next year, then it would have to be through a trade.

I would love to sign Brian Grant. As stated, when healthy, he is a handful. He gave Karla fits in the playoffs last year. Plus, if we can wrestle any talent away from another Western conference team, great!

Ben Wallace is a good player. Excellent on the boards and defense. Better than Pig? I think he fits in better on the Houston roster. He is a bit quicker than Pig and runs the floor better.

What about Gary Trent? I hear he's expected to opt out of his contract (2-yr, $4.2 million).

I love Gary Trent. I live in Dallas and go to the Mavs-Rockets games and others. He is very underrated and is a great post player with a soft touch too.

If we could nab him, I am all for it. I didn't know he had an opt-out clause in his contract. He has played only like a dozen games this season due to injuries though.
