    What about Travis Best?

Looks like he is gonna get squeezed in chicago..

And the guy would be far and away our best defensive guard.

One knock would be his size, but for a backup guard, he could work..

Especially if we wind up making a deal and the Mooch gets moved as part of it.

    Whatcha think?

If Mooch was moved, then I guess I think it would be a good pickup. But I think Brown could fill in as backup PG decently enough, and he is probably cheaper. Plus, I don't see the Rockets trading Moochie.

Popeye Jones, but for this to happen we would probably need to dump Big Mo or KT. KT has a bit more trade value since he played well last year and has a small contract, but unfortunately doesn't have much upside.

Jones will do the dirty work and can rebound.

Keon Clark. Why isn't he getting a sniff around the league? Did he kill somebody?

Trade KT for Popeye Jones?

Do you mean Kenny Thomas, the one that plays for the Rockets for Popeye Jones? Am I missing something? Why would we trade KT for Popeye when KT is a superior player to Popeye?

Popeye Jones is a hard worker and a classic over achiever...but in his case that is not saying much.

If we need a big enforcer type like HP said in an earlier thread just to add a little toughness in then why not just resign Kevin Willis or try and get Charles Oakley. Those two know how to be enforcers and love to play big physical ball in the paint. They are both in the twilight of their career and will not demand or need major minutes. The way Eddie Griffin is improving we will not need the big enforcer type more than a year or two at the most so Willis or Oakley would be perfect while not cutting into EG's playing time.

BTW, I think Travis Best sucks. But that is just my oppinion.

If the Rockets are to sign another PF, one of the ones on the current roster will probably be traded. Kenny is probably the one. I'm not saying KT for Jones, but if we sign Jones then KT caould be traded elsewhere for players or picks, etc

I think a big body to help Ming in the paint (with rebounding and D) is more important than an "enforcer" who just throws the hard fouls. Jones is an above average rebounder and has a big body to clog the middle. In the weak FA pool, he's one to consider.
