I think the rockets will use FA to sign a PF. I think the rockets and the draft (the possible PFs are better at other positions)are weak at this position.

I see Davis, Webber, Mo available.

Webber is first choice, but is Mo the second choice? I would think so, especially if the rockets can grab a rebounding SF or a center in the draft.

I am also intrigued about Dikembe. He'd anchor the defense like he's doing in Philly and give the rocks a Shaq Slower.

Mutombo isn't going anywhere. Wishful thinking.

i've been meaning to squelch this rumor for a while now....

what makes people think antonio davis is leaving toronto? i've heard no articles, comments, or anything other than wild speculation from the cc.net bbs-ers about him leaving.

as is, he is on an up-and-coming team with a legit superstar and a great coach. why would he want to leave that? he has to play center over there, but hell, he's in the EAST, where there are basically NO CENTERS. why come west and move to either center or stay at power forward? he'd be far less effective over here, and i think he knows that. either way, i have heard nothing from anywhere about him being unhappy &/or wanting to leave toronto.

As long as he is unsigned, he's a possibility. I haven't heard him say he's staying. Carter may not be in Toronto for long. I don't think Dikembe is leaving either, but he is intriguing.

Yeah, right, it's just wild speculation on cc.net. You obviously didn't hear Davis on the Jim Rhome show.

    From NBATalk.com:

Here we go again. Another NBA free-agent, another apparent swipe at the country of Canada. Raptors free-agent Antonio Davis, told radio talk show host Jim Rome that
he feared his children are being warped by their private schooling in the nation's largest city and ``a lot of time I was worried about them. . . It's just that Canada teaches alot of different things.'' Those "different" things, according to Davis, include the metric system and the Canadian national anthem. According to the Toronto Star, thecomments immediately raised a furor among Canadians who already feel slighted by many players in the NBA. Davis did say that he hasn't ruled out a return to Toronto. ``I
think everything else in Toronto is fine,'' Davis told Rome, though he did say he was concerned about the lack of ``opportunities'' for his wife. ``There's a chance for us to win here and there are great opportunities for me.'' Still Davis didn't sound like a man who was dying to return to the Raptors. "Toronto's not a bad place. I was happy here, I was happy with the team. But if I have to move on, I have to move on.'' Our guess? He'll find an excuse to move on.

Mo can't rebound, because he doesn't have the desire to do so.If he improves his fitness and works hard, then he could average around 7 rebounds a game.

The reason Mo does'nt rebound that well because he shoots from the outside, he thinks he's a guard.

I heard that interview -- he NEVER said that his kids were being "warped" by the Canadian school system. He said that he'd prefer it if his kids were in American schools just because there are differences in culture, and he'd prefer they learn American history and American culture.

IMO, the reaction to his comments are what will cause him to leave. They've totally been blown out of proportion, and anyone who heard them at the time would agree. I don't think it's a reach that he could end up here with us. We need a center, and Davis would be a great fit. He showed lots of heart in this playoff season, and I would love to have him in the pinstriped jammies.
