Now that the season is over, what are the dates to look forward to for the madness to begin? i know the draft is Tuesday. What date do trading and free agency start?
The commish said July 21st for deals to be official, but July 1st is when all the dealing will really start.
They normally start on July 1, however this year the moratorium will end on July 7. The NBA needs more time to complete the paperwork for the new CBA and some time to take care of the administrative duties after an NBA season ends. So July 7 is the date.

I still believe teams are allowed to talk to players on July 1st. If this is true then that is when the action starts. Whenever the teams can talk to free agents.
That means we have more wiaiting to do and then even more waiting to find out if the rumors are true like we did with T-Mac. But, the waiting was well worth it!!
July 22nd is the date which players can SIGN. But July 1st is when teams can TALK to players. And ususally players will VERBALLY comit at that time. A lot of players did that last year.
